Some of my bookmarks that might be useful when dealing with the govt.
Please feel free to add yours.

Government:
FirstGov -- The U.S. Government's Official Web Portal -name says it all
Supreme Court of the United States -Useful to read the actual decisions, not what the media says the Supremes did.
TBI Home Page - Ever wondered what TBI does?
Tennessee Code Annotated -Look up every TN state law verbatim.
Tennessee Registry of Election Finance - Who gave what to whom?
Tennessee.gov Main Page -Main portal to TN on the web
TN Blue Book -Dont have a hard copy? This is an electronic version.
TN Dept of State Elections - Election rules, law, etc.
Tennessee General Assembly - Learn your state reps, look up bills, votes.
White House - Go all the way to the top. Mostly propaganda, but interesting, even to a non-fan of the current occupant.

Advocacy:
http://www.tennesseefirearms.com/ - TN Firearms Association - political advocacy group for gun rights. Sort of the NRA for TN.
http://www.nra-ila.org/ - Political wing of the NRA. Lots of info here.
http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/St...fic.aspx?st=TN - TN page at NRA-ILA. Sort of a "one stop shop" for getting active in TN.
http://www.nra.org/ - The "NRA News" feature at the top is a quick and easy way to stay up to date on current gun-related issues. Not exactly the most objective news source out there, but you already knew that.
http://www.conservetn.com/ - allies on most gun issues.

Politics:
http://www.dnc.org/pdfs/2004platform.pdf - National Democratic Party platform.
http://www.gop.com/media/2004platform.pdf - National Republican Party platform.
(Both of these are searchable by key words using Adobe. Try "guns".)
http://www.tngop.org/ - State GOP
http://www.tndp.org/ - State Dems
(Both of these are of some use with keeping up to date and contacting officials.)
