The words CHEAP and AMMO are seldom found in the same sentance these days.

Best I've seen advertised online lately for any "good" 7.62 x 39 is about $150/per thousand.
If you find any more silver bear at 10 cents, let me know! please?

*sigh* guys, with the war going on, and our side using nato calibers, and the opposition using warsaw pact calibers, those of us who use service rifles and ak style rifles are either going to get good at reloading or pay the money.
My brother and I will begin reloading when he gets his turret press up and we can get the bench set up correctly.
it'll be about a month at the most.

I dont shoot .308 (yet). I have reloaded for .45acp and .44mag. I am considering getting some of Lee's little reloading kits for the 308 for my shop.

those are actually pretty darn neat!
My brother does alot of the reloading here, and while he has a turret press, the stuff you find in those small kits like that are handy even with all the other equipment

One of my customers turned me on to them. They look like little inexpensive kits for people who will shoot 20-30 rounds out of a bolt rifle in a week or so. That is a lot of people. Some of my hunting customers tell me they might shoot 10 rounds out of one of their hunting rifles a season. And if you're talking about a .458Lott or something exotic that can be a lot of money.

Aim surplus has silver HP @ 89.00 per 500 rds. I think I'll bite the bullet and order some.

oh..I know! I have a buddy with a .338 lapua I think it is? ...anyhow..it averages about 5 bucks a round! if thats not a good reason to reload, I don't know what is..and those little kits do just fine with it.

I got Wolf Mil Class from Cheaper than Dirt a few weeks ago for 179 a thousand. I had called Aim and one other ( alzheimers kicking in, can't remember who) and though their sites quoted prices none of them had it in stock.
I know of a gun shop up near JC that has it for $22 per hundred.

Wideners is the absolute cheapest place I know of to buy Wolf ammo of any flavor. Wolf Military Classic, 7.62x39mm 124gr FMJ: $165 per 1000.
