Another example of why you need a way to protect yourself until the police get there.

sounds like she got a gun just in time!
i would have opened fire before he made his way that deep into my house!

Police said she will not face charges, because she acted in self defense.
Not face charges? Heck she deserves a medal!

CALLER: "What are you doing??? "STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!"..
DISPATCHER: "Okay.. he's in with her!"
CALLER CONTINUES: "STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! Stop it.. (begging) Please stop it..."

The woman then shot the man.

She gave the guy more than enough warning.

If Indiana has a duty to retreat clause then I would say this woman did her job dutifully.

Notice that the call took 5 minutes and the police were not there yet. Who in their right mind thinks that the police will protect them especially in this type of situation?

Did anyone else hear where the 911 operator told her "it's only been 2 minutes" and the actual recording was already at 4 minutes?

I guess I should've linked where I heard the entire recording.

when did she shoot the scum? Did i miss something or is it not on the video?

Didn't the scum realize he was breaking the law? The nerve of some people.

Good for her!!

Most states do not require one to retreat in the home, even though you may be required to make an attempt to retreat if safe to do so in public. Even liberal New York and Mass do not require people to retreat from criminals in their homes.

i thought i heard a shot just as soon as he opened the door to the closet... she was extremely calm sounding in her voice to the operator.. great for her. she could have well been the victim that day..

I thought is was a fairly emotional tape, I heard this tape in conjunction with a video using a lot of Oleg Volk pictures on YouTube

That is precisely why we take the instruction of the NRA's Personal Protection in the Home class so seriously. Our next class is 22 March.

She did the right thing, doing what she could do to protect herself from becoming a victim of ruthless crime....congrats to her.

I'm sure she feels terrible about now, but she no longer has to worry about the guy killing her. I'm very glad she killed him rather than him having a chance to come back after her when he got out of prison and that hanging over her head for years.

Very moving video jc. hard to imagine what the woman is going through right now, not hard to imagine what drove her to shoot the bastard.

whatever she is feeling is better than being a victim. Glad she killed him.
