Hey guys,
Anybody know of some good public hunting land for turkeys around Dickson, Hickman county or surrounding areas? Or does anybody know of any leases available in the area? I'm not as concerned about using it for deer hunting as I am about turkey hunting on it. Also wouldn't mind trying some varmint hunting around this area. I've only been living here about a year, so I don't really know too many people in the area yet.

I've heard that Bucksnort is about as secluded as you can get. As far as i know no one really cares out there. Plus, you go deep enough into the forest and the waters so clean you can drink it straight. :) I'm sure if you asked some farmer out there they probably wouldnt care.

I went through bucksnort one time..that place is in the middle of nowhere!! if there's turkey in Tn, they're bound to be there.

I'm also looking kinda in that area as well, somewhere in Hickman close to Centerville if anyone knows of anything. I'm kinda the opposite though, I'm not too interested in turkey hunting or varmint hunting, but need a new place to get back into deer hunting. I've tried to look into some of the logging company land, but I can't find anything much on any of that, if there even is any left that hasn't already been leased.

There used to be a kick ass trail ride at Bucksnort.
Edit: There still is. http://www.bucksnorttrailride.com/

Have you tried Cheatham WMA?
I'm a life-long Dicksonian, so I'm blessed to have friends and family with farms in Montgomery, Dickson and Humphreys counties.
I'm sure you've been to the Sportsmans' Store in Dickson. They'd probably have some lease option info.
