Have you considered TN Sports Foundation's range/school south of Jackson ? They teach their class the third saturday of every month except december from 8 AM to about 4:30 PM The range is about 5 miles south of the intersection of Bemis Lane at south Riverside Drive in what is known as the Sadie Lou community. The class is always advertised in the firearms section of the classified of the Jackson Sun. Cost is $65. Bring a handgun, side holster (no shoulder or cross draw rigs), 100 rounds of factory ammo that need not be premium ammo but can't be re-load ammo. Also students need eye & ear protection. Dress for the weather as the covered shooting area allows shooting qualification rain or shine. There is a break for lunch, and most people find it best to pack a lunch & ice chest for what colas, sports drinks, water they would like for the day with their sack lunch. Absolutely NO alcohol allowed on the range property either in a container or in you. Bring PLENTY water, pen & paper, and an open mind.
Just another option for someone who can't make other classes. The permit class is taught as a fund raiser for the club.

I think it was 75 when I went. It's a very good class.
