Ok just because I would like to know how many other women are on this board and what you carry and how you carry it.
I will be carrying a Glock 26 (Currently on layaway) when I get my permit. Test is passed I just have to get the information sent in now! I will probably use a belly band.

Well, one lady here :)
I carry either a Glock 27, which is the subcompact .40 or sometimes a Taurus .38 snubbie. I carry both guns mostly in a belly band, but occasionally in a fanny pack.

Gunslinger,
I love my little Taurus. It's the Ultra-Lite model and it only weighs about 17 oz. if I remember correctly. When I carry it, I hardly know it's there. I think they're just as good as the S&W's at about half the price ;)

How much do you target practice packinmama? I know how much mom target shoots since I am with her most of the time. hehe!

Yes, I know what you mean. I posted a thread on here a while back asking how many female members were on the board......I didn't get a big response either. It is surprising that more females don't post. Seems like there are only about 6 or 7 including me, you, and your mom that post regularly.
I don't target practice very often to be honest. Which is really a shame since I can literally step out my back door and shoot. It's hard to find time with my three year old son and my elderly mother to take care of. Another big reason is the price of ammo these days....it's just too expensive. When my son gets a little older, I'll be able to take him out with the .22's and teach him how to shoot. I have two .22 rifles but I need to get a .22 pistol in the next couple years too. I'm keeping an eye out for a good used one right now. I'd like to have a Browning Buckmark or a Ruger Mk II maybe.
I saw some pics of your family on your mom's webpage.....I can't remember....is Jude your son? He sure is a cutie :)

If it's any consolation to you gals, I know several guys that are on the board that don't post that much, if at all in some cases. Some people just like to read.

I am a reader too but I also love to post. (When I feel like I can contribute to the conversation.) I am not to "Gun" smart yet! HA! I am a newbie in the gun world.
PackinMama- Yes, Jude is my son, my pride and joy, and my biggest reason to give the lord thanks everyday! He is such a joy and I never new what real love was until him. (Don't get me wrong I love my husband and my family but being a mama is something very different. I think all mamas would say the same!) He is 15 months in just a few days and we had a very difficult time conceiving. But the Lord is good and I have my little miracle boy.

Natosha, I know exactly what you mean about not knowing real love until you had your son :) I thought I was unable to have children and at 36 I was finally was able to conceive. I think it was all in His greater plan all along ;)
As far as being a newbie in the gun world.....better late than never! :D Just stick around here and you'll learn a bunch and have a good time too!
I am new to this site so it is still taking me a bit to navigate this forum...I carry a FEG R61 in .380 ( looks like the PA-63 but I don't think the parts are interchangeable); I carry it just in front of my hip with an in the pant holster; sometimes I will carry my husband's Taurus PT940 .40 cal at my back but it is a bit of a bigger gun so its rare that I do that.

I am one of the woman who doesn't post much. I usually just skim the areas, mostly on the weekends. I know folks in other forums that posts in almost every topic or thread. I think they just like seeing their avatar. ;)
It'll be a while until I carry as I just took the class. But when I get the permit I'll probably need to find something a bit smaller since my two are rather hard to conceal. I have a Beretta 92FS and a Beretta Cougar 8045 both of which I love.

MrsS, it still takes me a bit of time with navigating the forum also, I manage to mostly hit two different forums, the Handgun section and the Concealed carry one, sometimes I wonder into different ones and find great reading, I just can't seem to get enough time to read each different forum. That is how I missed your intro post. So welcome again!

Welcome Bastet, glad to have you aboard.
I carry a Glock 26 or a Kel-tec P3AT and have a CZ 75D PCR on order, I may carry it at times. The Kel-tec is the easiest to conceal but I really like my Glock for carry. This summer will be the trying time, I will most likely carry my Kel-tec the most during hot weather.

I usually search for specific information, so often miss threads such as this one.
If I'm in clingy polyester and/or a skirt, I carry the invisible Kel-Tec. Otherwise, the Kel-Tec is my bug and I have on my Kimber Custom II. Yes, I carry a full size 1911. Daily. In addition, my Sig p232 lives in the inside pocket of my leather jacket, which on occasion means I have three guns on me. heh.

Hello BarqueCat and welcome, glad to have another woman aboard.
I also have a Kel-tec and they are definitely easy to hide. Mine is a P3AT. I also have a Glock 26 and a CZ 75D PCR compact. I like the bigger guns of course but it's not always easy to conceal the bigger ones so the Kel-tec is great. I have had two on me a time or two but never three, not yet anyway :D

We also saw this at the last Smyrna (RK) gun show and thought it might be something that she would stand a chance of being able to carry concealed without too much trouble.
http://www.charterfirearms.com/images/products/prod_pgs/53830.gif
She's tall and thin so just about any automatic will stick off of her hip like a giant neon "Look at me, I'm carrying a GUN!!!" sign regardless of what holster she uses. A small revolver like that should tuck in a lot closer.
The pink M&P 9mm would more or less be her toy for the range. :)

First off, I'd like to welcome Mrs.Tungsten to the board!! Nice to have you here! :) I like the Pink Lady Revolver, for great concealability without sacrificing power you just can't hardly beat a good snubbie! I would put in a vote for one of the "baby" Glocks, but we all know how Mr.Tungsten feels about those! ;) :D Update: Wow!!! I just read the thread where Mr.Tungsten is considering a G19  Maybe he's finally coming around! :stunned::koolaid:  :koolaid:
For those of us ladies that own Glocks.....just thought I'd throw this info in: Lone Wolf Distributing can "Tatoo" or "Cerakote" your glock for you with the color/design of your choice. They could do pink flames or maybe pink camo......just check out their website here: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Default.aspx

But if you insist on one...
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=98902831
Another auction. Pay the shipping charges and have it transferred to a gun shop near you, then complete the sale there. Figure an additional $20 shipping, $20 receiving fee from the local shop and $10 for the TBI check. Grand total of $50 above and beyond the cost of the gun.
Cheaper than the gasoline it'd take to drive anywhere further than Nashville to get one.

Hey ladies. Glad to see im not the only "newbie" to shooting. Well I got interested in shooting because of my husband (bnagashima). To be honest I never was a gun fan and never wanted anything to do with them. Well then we went shooting for the 1st time together and it took me about 2 hours to finally say ok I think im ready for this. Once I started shooting I realized it wasn't so bad and kept on wanting to shoot even though we were outta bullets - oops..ha ha. Soooo now im getting more involved and learning a little more and more each time.

She can have what ever she wants as long as we can swing it. She knows I would rather buy jewelry than a high $ purse. Though I'm still leanning toward the bug. She knows it's her choice.

Just remember I do work in nashville. She probably wouldn't have you anyway. I try too hard to keep her happy. Good try though.

Guys...
My wife was reading over my shoulder last night and commented that the comments about single ladies are cute and all, but that TGO doesn't strike her as being the place for looking for a date online and that these comments will invariably ruin the appeal of having a Ladies' forum here.
I think she's right. Let's keep the "Any single women here?" type comments out of the loop. There is always Match.com for that sort of thing. TGO is for talking about issues relevant to firearms ownership.
Thanks.

It is a hard decision. Jewelry Or Bug????? He will not buy me the purse I have to save my own money, I have two & they are $2000.00 a piece. That is why the purse is a no! It makes him angree I would spend that much on a purse.

That is the bad thing about the internet. Sometimes you can't read people. I think he is married anyway?

Yeah, I kind of figured it was a joke also. But here's a bad scenerio:
A woman is assaulted and decides to find a handgun to protect herself in the future. She comes here either before or after buying a handgun, looking for good information and a place where she can learn more about her right to self defense. Upon visiting, she finds a few threads that she likes but more importantly she notices that there are posts from men in the Ladies forum where it appears like they are hitting on them.
This woman becomes disgusted and leaves, never seeing that it was all a joke or just a random incident of a guy being a typical guy and "thinking with the wrong head". It hits too close to home for her either way and she leaves before the other members of TGO can be of assistance to her.
I'd rather we avoid that sort of thing in the Ladies forum. Cutting up between guys and gals is OK elsewhere but this one particular forum is one where it should be off limits. Or at least that's my theory.
