Long year of recovering

Posted 01-11-2009 at 08:52 PM by clutepc

ACL surgery went well and I'm out of all the braces and just rehabing the knee.
Finally able to start getting some range time in.

Good luck with the knee. It takes a while to recover. I blew out my right ACL in Feb. 05. It's good now, but occasionally hurts. Blew out my right ACL in Sept. 07 but had to cut my rehab short to return to work. It's still a bit weak, but getting better. Trust me, no matter what they say, the knee will not be as good as new.

Mine is getting stronger but I can tell it takes time.
Not sure if I'll ever trust it fully.

I've blown both my right and left ACLs, and have had arthroscopic surgery to remove scare tissue on both knees twice.

This is fairly normal, so if you start to develop pain, have your Dr take a look. It's a simple procedure, and you're walking the same day. Both times he did both my knees at the same time.

Unfortunately, mine still give me problems, and I just had to realize I can't run and play sports like I used to, and have to know when to take it easy etc. I picked up cycling which really helps keep me stay somewhat in shape without having to put a lot of pressure on my knees. Good luck with you knee, and don't overdo it even when you think it's healed completely.
