AR-15 10.5 in Barrel ?
Is a 10.5 in barrel illegal with out the class III stuff ? If the over all length is more than 26 in, I see them for sale.

Yes.
The barrel must be at least 16" regardless of the overall length. You don't need a class III anything, you just need to pay $200 for your NFA tax stamp.

You can legally buy the uppers seperately... for instance if you were going to create an AR15 'pistol' (without a stock attached, on a registered pistol lower). But to buy a complete gun with <16" barrel, or to install a <16" upper on a rifle lower, you must apply for a tax stamp from the BATFE, to create a registered Short-Barreled Rifle.
If you have a registered machine-gun lower, you can install any length barrel you like.

If the flash suppressor is pinned/welded on, then yes. If it is removable, then no.

In the ATF book it's says 16in barrel or 26in in overall length, what is overall length all about? And how is that measured?

Do you want the answer, or the answer you WANT to hear?
