Here's the story. I got invited up to Indiana to go shoot some doves tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The guy who invited me said I just have to bring myself, gear, and a gun.

As far as dove hunting, I have never been. If you can throw out some hints and tips, I'd appreciate it. I have however hunted my fair share of pheasant, having spent about six years in the Dakotas. I do have a 20 gauge over/under. Is that an appropriate piece, or can I use this as a wonderful excuse to goto the fun store on my way out of town?

Thanks fellas,
John.

Where are you going and for what?

I'm going to the same ole' spots this year, again. MO,SC for whitetail. Nothing too exciting but MO has some big ens'. SC sucks but its family hunting. Scrawny little greyhound looking deer with basket racks. Oh well they eat good and the slick heads are abundant. We will see if my luck holds for this year in MO. Two 150+ the last two years has got me hooked! Heck I might even try out TN while I'm at it.

Must say ive owned my glock 19 for almost 2 years now and have put well over 6000 rounds through it. And i recently picked up a used Smith MP 9MM Full Size and absolutley must say its a excellent pistol. Here is my 1st mag at 7 yards.. with 1 aimed at the upper 7

The glock was shot ok.. but must say felt recoil and even the STOCK trigger was OK. Hard to fell the reset on the MP but ofc the glock is like a rock and can definatly feel the reset and a tad more recoil. Must say this ones gonna go to the MP. With that said i HIGHLY doubt ill ever sell my g19.. that gun is just the ****. end story lol haha :) Think a MP 9c is the future and some stippling to the MP.

Many of you remember me posting on the 4th of July about the jet ski accident my friend had http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/ge...ent-today.html so I just wanted to give you an update on his progress.

He was in the hospital for over a month before he was discharged. He's been at home for a few weeks now and he is doing great. I went to see him today for his birthday party and he was the same exact guy as before.

His only permanent injuries is the loss of vision in his right eye and all the titanium plates in his head. He doesn't have any brain damage and for the most part seems perfectly normal. He is so fortunate that his injuries were not worse. Losing an eye is horrible but considering he is lucky to be alive I think he's doing just fine. If my cousin had not pulled him from the lake he wouldn't even be here with us today.

He has already been discharged from physical therapy and finally after TWO MONTHS got his neck brace taken off. The docs even told him he could go back to work whenever he wants. His last step is some rehab to make sure he can drive a car safely.

I want to thank everyone for the prayers and encouraging words. And also thanks to all the PM's I received.

Tomorrow is going to be the first day I really go out carrying.

I have a good day planned.

I know this is not what most of you want to hear but I will be OC tomorrow.

I will be returning Dad's .22 Ruger I used for my HCP class and it is just a bit 2 big to CC. I am going to wear a long shirt that can almost cover it.

Going take a nice drive up to the TN/KY border area. Take the 4 wheeler out and ride some. Might do a little scouting for deer season. At least going to ride in the area I plan to hunt.

We are going to get some shooting in around Dad's place and let her get the feel for pistols a bit more.

BTW, it looks like we might have to make a couple Wally walks during this trip. She forgot to pick up some safety glasses that I told her to all week. I know the eye center has some safety rated glasses.

I am going to be loaded with a second mag loaded.

Going to be picking up another pistol for my wife to practice with as she is wanting to take her HCP when she gets more familiar with guns. I am doing my part, which includes not forcing and pushing her. My part is answering any questions she has, if I don't know getting her the answer. If and when she wants to go shoot, to take her and not to rush her into it.
