After years of saying it would never happen, the inevitable happened.

I bought a Glock 19 off a friend of mine. Had to sell my J-Frame, but I feel it was worth it. Third gen, so I'm gonna throw a light on it, just cuz I want to.

And now for the required porn.

Now would anyone happen to have any mags I could buy in the next couple weeks?

Just to show that my (NBR 2) Naughty Black Rifle 2 doesn't prove me totally insane, I do also have another 10/22 that looks rather normal.

Bought hkusp40cal's stainless 10/22 some time back.
Had Simmons .22 Mag 4x on it.
An oddity is that this is serial number 252-xxxx, and the Ruger site shows serial numbers jumping from 252 to 253, no mention of 252. Anyway, it's from about 2000-2001, and has all metal trigger group and etc.

It had a Ruger "boat paddle" stock on it, which I didn't much care for, but found that it was somewhat rare and desirable among Rugerites, so just eBayed it for about $80.

I replaced it with the Hogue overmolded, added Wally's bipod, Volquartsen hammer and extractor, and a bolt buffer.

Odd thing is, the hammer makes this model a little lighter and smoother pull than the other one I posted. The other one is modern plastic trigger housing, but don't really see why that would make a diff, as all the internals on both are metal, of course.

Anyway, it's a nice shooter, and you sure won't loose your grip on that rubberized texture on the stock.

So, I caught the Ruger 10/22 bug in the last 6 months or so.

I'm sure that come The Meltdown, the critters will all band together to hasten our demise, so without getting totally carried away I put together this RLMED (Rodent, Leporid, and Marsupial Eradication Device):

Took a stock carbine, sold the birch stock of it, added:
- Butler Creek folding stock
(easier to sling carry, muzzle down, when quickly evading groundhog flanking movements)

- Volquartsen hammer and extractor, bolt buffer
(need to be smooth against the critter hordes)

- John Masen muzzle brake/flash hider
(can't let them squirrel and rabbit scouts pinpoint your position)

- Bushnell 3-9 x 32 scope
(need to pick them off at a distance, all is lost if it comes down to mano a mano

- "Winchester" bipod
(precision head shots are a must, especially if the critters have been bitten by zombies)

- See through scope rings
(when running around in the hedgerows can't afford for broken glass to put you out of commission against possums and whistlepigs)

- Butler Creek 25 round banana mags
(hey, more is always better!)

Not "evil" but certainly "naughty". Been meaning to catch up on some stuff to show, here's my 50 yard ICBM (Inner City Bad Mutha). It's just a plain jane Hi-Point 995, didn't add anything, as didn't want to detract from its natural ugliness!:

I like it a lot, really do.
The rifle has been 100%, the mags are the weak part.
First time ever shot it, Mike .357 and I ran every kind of 9mm we could find: ball, hollowpoints, reloads, etc. Mixed them all up. Could NOT make it misfeed or eject.

Then I loaded up my five mags before next trip and started getting some feed ramp jams. Hmmm. Mike and I polished feed ramp. Still intermittent failure to feeds. Hmmm. Reading up on things, discovered that by using an Uplula mag loader, I had spread the feed lips on the mags. The mags are all metal, but are pretty thin metal, and the metal plunger on the Uplula spread them some, as they are single stack and you have to be careful to center the loader. So now that I know to tweak them back together, all has been good. If anyone made a 25-30 round mag that actually works, they'd make a fortune!

Don't know if many of you saw it, but here's Mike .357's model - it's the Hi-Point 995 TS (Tacticool Stock) he picked up at the last gunshow we attended. (great pic, btw). It comes stock this way, although he added the fore end vertical grip. I'm not sure whether I prefer the Old Ugly or the New Ugly!

I just got this (new to me) HD shotgun yesterday. I have made friends with a Business owner who operates a company here locally who sells to Law Enforcement Only. He does not sell to the general public. We have become friends and I have bought a few things from him.

This particular gun was seized in a drug raid on a house, and I got a heck of a deal on it. $160 is all I paid. Yes the Seriel number has been cleared and it was leagally purchased through a business. I did a background check and everything.

The gun is not that shiny. I took the picture is a dimly lit office, and I adjusted the Brightness and Contrast so that the picture would be good enough to post.

My brother and I headed up to the Viola Shooting Range ($6/per person for all day) with a small arsenal in back of my Prius. I had my new Sig P238 (purchased Friday), my DPMS Sportical 5.56 and my SA XD(m) 40. He had his Glock 22, his (new to him) Mosin Nagant and his Mini-14.

Here are a couple of glamor shots of the P238 and the DPMS:

We started off with the long guns. I ran 60 rounds through the DPMS while he tried out his Mosin and sighted in the Mini-14. I really like the DPMS and I'm afraid I've begun my journey down the EBR path.

My brother liked his Mosin and he had been told it kicked like a mule but neither of us thought it was very bad. He's a machinist by trade and he had designed and built his own scope mount for the Mini-14.

I finally got set up to try the P238 and ran around 50 round through it. It's a nice shooting piece, soft recoil and it has a great sight picture. I don't think I did too bad on the first 6 rounds (from 21 to 25 feet).

I only had a couple of FTEs but I'm blaming those on the probably 15-year-old ammo I used. The box still had the price sticker of $10.50 for 50 rounds on it.

I closed out the day with my XD(m) 40 and my brother let me try out his Glock. I don't want to start a major discussion on the merits of each but I prefer the XD(m)'s grip to the Glock. I have smaller hands and have the small backstrap installed and the Glock just felt too big in comparison.

All-in-all, Sunday was a great day to be out shooting and we both are happy with our respective firearms.

Well, I caved in, and decided to get while the gettin' was good. Been wanting one of these for a while :hyper:. I know some folks like em and some folks, but I think it's a great gun.

It's not as heavy as I thought it would be, but still feels solid. I like the adjustable cheek piece, didn't think it would help but the placement is just right when I look through the EoTech. Can't wait to take it to the range, I'll definately be trying it out ASAP and compare it with the FS2000 and AR's I've shot. Also definately going to SBR this thing; it was mean to be done on this platform...

Thanks again to Daniel (Metalhead) at Guns and Leather for giving me a heads up. Here's some close up shots of the BUIS, stock, charging handle, etc.
