Alright fellow Memphians (and surrounding area people) here is a quick questionnaire for the purpose of market research for a project that will probably never happen in 10 years. There are ten questions all relating to a rifle range.

1: how often would/do you shoot?: How many times per month would you pay to use a rifle range in close proximity to Memphis?

2: How far would you be willing to drive?: What is the maximum distance that is convenient to you.

3: How long would you like the range to be?: The minimum distance of the range you would visit.

4: What type of area do you prefer to shoot from?: open field or covered awning, Grass or concrete?

5: What type of range behavior do you not approve of?: Types of rules do you prefer( one second between shots, no drinking ,no firing from a moving vehicle) [the last one is allowed in the orange mound shooting range :D]

6: Do you prefer a range which sells ammunition?: Would an on-site source of ammunition drive you away?

7: Would you rather buy guns and ammunition from a place with a outdoor rifle range?

8: Would you prefer a range that offers steel targets?: Does the loud dinging private you?

9: What hour's are most convenient for your life schedule: When would you want to go shooting?

10: how much would you pay per day/hour of usage of the range?

First off I'm supposed to be working and the rifle is sitting in the truck. It's a Winchester Model 52B I'm pretty sure. It is in need of a new bolt (since it doesn't have one) and a magazine or two (again since it doesn't have any). Question is does anyone have an old bolt or magazine sitting around? Does anyone know where I can purchase either of these? I'm wanting to get this rifle right. It also has a crazy a$$ scope on it, the only markings I found on it was "Telescope M82" and the SN. Any help with this is greatly appreciated, I want to get this rifle right.
Thanks,

i just got a new winchester, it is a winchester model 1895 in 405 winchester made in 2010(the newest gun i own lol) i shot it saturday, it shoots awesome!! it will do a 2inch group or less at 100 yards and that is if you don't jump. it does have some massive recoil(there is a reason why teddy roosevelt called it big medicine!!!) i'm looking forward to shooting a deer with it this year. i have plans for a globe front sight and rear peep sight and also some sling mounts. i will try to get pictures up sometime but for now it will have to be the factory pictures. the only thing i don't like is the trigger pull but that may be able to get fixed.

Here's the story. I got invited up to Indiana to go shoot some doves tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The guy who invited me said I just have to bring myself, gear, and a gun.

As far as dove hunting, I have never been. If you can throw out some hints and tips, I'd appreciate it. I have however hunted my fair share of pheasant, having spent about six years in the Dakotas. I do have a 20 gauge over/under. Is that an appropriate piece, or can I use this as a wonderful excuse to goto the fun store on my way out of town?

Thanks fellas,

I purchased a 15-22 last week. I took it to Stones River yesterday. It is the flat top
with the threaded barrel and A1 birdcage flash suppressor. I fired 300 round through it with no issues. I use bulk ammo from WM to Eley, even the 60 grain Augilia SSS without a hick up. I used the iron sights and the the groups were tight and easy to dial in. I then mounted Walther red dot and co-witness the sights and it got even tighter. i don't know when I have fired a .22 and had so much fun. I had a .22 conversion for my AR and this dedicated rifle is far more accurate. The magazines were very easy to load compared to the Black Dogs with most conversions and other dedicated rifles.

Due to the adjustable stock it fit both of my children very well. I tried to purchase this rifle local at a well known gun store south of Murfreesboro but it was $200.00 more. I ended up buying at Palmetto State Armory. They do have a brick and motor store in
South Carolina in the same building as their online warehouse. With a extra magazine
it was right at $400.00. I feel this is the best bang for the buck that I have made in a few years. The smile on my children's faces attest to that. :D

I will have to post pictures latter. My camera is at the Fort.
