XS sights for Glocks
I have been looking at purchasing a set of XS sights for my Glock 23 in distant future. From what I have read by users of these sights and watching the videos on their website, they look like pretty good sights. The sights come with everything you need to remove the old sights and install the new ones. Does anyone have these sights installed on their guns and if so, are they worth the hype?

A friend of mine has a set on his G17. He used a vise and a wooden dowl drift pin to remove/replace his rear sight. Yes, he got it centered perfectally by taking his time tapping the new one into it's "premarked, predetermined" place.
He used a metal punch to knock out the front sight and the new one screwed in. I believe they provide you with a "socket deal, type thing" so you can tighten down the nut. He absoutly loves them but his G17 is for home defense only. They are easily seen and used by his wife as well so they work for both of them. Me, however, I don't like the sight picture. I've recently put Ghost Ring night sights on my G26 and absoutly love them. Others don't like them. Your sights need to accomodate you and the life style you'll be using them in. Is it a home defense gun or a carry gun?? In my friends situation, will they work well for those whom might need to use them such as a spouse?? They need to work for you first and you need to be comfortable with them. Besides, if you ever decide you don't like them, sell'em and go on the the next set you think might work well for you and your application....

I used them on my HK, gonna get them for my 1911, and once I figure out how to do it, gonna have a Big Dot front sight put on my 442.
I love these sights, super fast to align, just dot the I. Easy to see in all light conditions. Chris Barrett turned me on to them. I was a huge fan of trijicon 3 dots, til I shot them side by side with XS Big Dots in a low light reflexive fire course, which he recommended I do. Have never looked back. Hands down fastest handgun sights I have ever, and will ever, use. |

I have the Big Dot on my XD9 Service which is my carry gun. They work great especially for these old eyes.

I've got XS big dots on my G21 and love them. fast acquisition, faster than any others, and quicker to get back on target too. I can't hype them enough, they're great.

XS sights are combat sights. If your punching holes in paper all day then they are likely not the sights for you. If however this is a carry weapon, I think you'll appreciate them a-lot once you get used to them. Whatever you wind up getting, I would suggest finding something that draws your attention to the front sight. (Warrens etc...) YMMV

I've been using Big Dots on my carry gun (G19) for approximately 2 years now. They are great sights. I've found them to be quite accurate with practice. I would highly recommend getting a set, they are very easy to install. I believe XS has install videos posted on youtube.
