Leupold Vari X II vs. VX3

I'm looking for some expert opinions in the forum. I currently have a Leupold Vari-X II 4-12x40mm AO lens on my .308 hunting rifle. I have a NIB VX3 3.5-10x40mm scope sitting in the safe, waiting for the right rifle. Which scope should really be sitting on the rifle? Anybody have experience shooting with both of these scopes?

Other than the 2 power difference between the vx2 and vx3 I would say the only difference is the lens coating. The ao is good but can be a problem on a quick shot. I guess it comes down to which scope you like the best.

I would go with the vx3 just because I do not like AO's on my hunting rifles.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the VariX II will be on the market soon. I've got the box and papers for it if anybody's looking... Probably will be on the trading post before long.
