I hate to point this out because even if it isn't true it is still pretty funny but the quote isn't true according to Snopes:

yeah, there is no single resource on the net that you can completely trust. In general I defer to snopes but, like you say, they are libs.
I think the only reasonable thing to do at this point is to post Obama actually saying the quote. In the age of youtube it shouldn't be hard.
