The Winchester Wildcat's a fantastic little rifle, straight from the box. Very accurate & a great triger (although non-adjustable, mine was set perfectly out of the box.)

The Wally Savage Mk II is now $137 - glad I got mine when I did.

No accutrigger on the wallymark, but a good, accurate rifle for the money.

BTW, check Rimfire Central for info on shimming the Mk II trigger.

I have a Winchester .22 tube fed rifle.

Model # 290

This one is fun to shoot, I have found out i can run out of ammo as fast as i can pull the trigger. I almost want a magazine fed .22 for more fun without reloading all the time.

Remington 597's are pretty inexpensive plinkers....but they do like the high velocity ammo. I put a Simmons .22 mag scope on mine and it has been a lot of fun so far.

The great thing about .22 rifles is that you have about 100 years worth of inexpensive used ones that are every bit as good as the ones sold new in the shop today.

If you can remove a "New" from store restriction the array of selections is staggering...talking thousands of different possibilities. The "fun" aspect is often actually finding the gun just right for you.
