Guidelines For Starting New Threads In This Forum

In order to preserve the integrity of both new and existing discussion threads in the Politics and Legislation forum, we are asking that you please observe the following guidelines when starting new threads:


#1. SEARCH FIRST! Use the vBulletin search feature first and make sure that another thread discussing your topic does not already exist. Search for common words and phrases. Words can be included by prefixing them with a plus sign (+) or excluded by prefixing a minus sign (-). Phrases can be enclosed in double quotes (" ... ")

Searching first helps prevent multiple threads discussing the same thing. Even if it's breaking news, you may find that someone else has already beaten you to the punch so just use their thread to contribute your opinions.


#2. USE MEANINGFUL THREAD TITLES! Think of the title of your thread as the headline. It should be short, to the point and descriptive of what the thread is about.

Good Title: "Senator Smith Proposes New Law Banning Squirt Guns In Waterparks"

Bad Title: "These jerks in the Senate just don't have any common sense"




#3. POST REFERENCES WHEN POSSIBLE! If you can provide a link to a reliable source for your information, please do so. It lends credibility to the thread and also helps others read and research the issue for themselves.
