Has this been brought up before and I missed it?
This is the first I have heard of this treaty. I must have had my head under a rock or something.
Some of you in the know, who all do we need to contact about not signing this?? |

I think this has been touched on before. Contact anybody that will listen.
They do need 2/3 majority to get this through and I can't imagine the republicans going that way and for that matter some of the dems. Then again do you trust anyone in Washington anymore? This is serious stuff. This is a big cover for socialism using the global warming lie as a vehicle. China, Russia, and India want nothing to do with it. We'll be charged taxes per carbon credits or footprints and just giving money to the underdeveloped nations who have no carbon footprint as they have no industry. Sure they are all for it. (And we thought Obama wasn't taking care of his poor uncle in Kenya) A foot in the door for one world government. Economically a disaster for us, not to mention the obvious loss of US sovereignty. This can't happen.Chime in.... Is there anyone out there that has an argument to support this? Can't imagine there is, but I'd love to hear your side anyway.

the only things that require 2/3 majority (as far as I can remember from Government class) are overturning presidential vetoes and then making amendments to the constitution. Treaties are signed by the president and then I believe ratified by a simple majority in the Senate (once again I could be wrong).
I certainly am not hearing anything about this treaty in the MSM, I assume it's the new version of the Kyoto agreement? |

Article II, section 2 "He (meaning the President) shall have the Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;..."
