When I lived in Shreveport, one of those "civic/political" groups did a gun buy and several individuals and a couple of dealers set up out on the sidewalk offering more than the $20 that was being offered inside. The dealers were even nice enough to let the private buyers have first dibs on the good stuff that showed up. I remember one guy bought a 1911 for $50 and the person dumping it was very happy.

If it's like it was when Clinton was doing the gun buy backs, the only guns to show up were a pieces of rusted, bend, and torn up junk.
I don't think anyone ever turned up with a fully functioning gun. I have a feeling that if someone did show up in line with something worthy, there was a guy there stand down a ways offering more than $50-$75 for the piece. Gun buy-backs and trade-ins just make the sheeple feel good. It turns my stomach.
