I still think the law in NH is the best for these kind of situations. I lived there for 2 years and still think they have some of the best laws in the country. Don't want to wear a seatbelt, don't but every non-licensed passenger in the car must. Don't want to wear a helmet while riding don't, you are only hurting yourself. Want to talk/text/eat whatever while driving go ahead, BUT if the police determine that your distraction was in any way contributory to the accident, that will be a $250 - $1000 fine.

Well, I ride a motorcycle, that is considered "riding" not "driving" so I guess I can continue to text while riding. I would say that, for those that are mentally capable to TWD safely, catching them would be pretty tough. Proving it would be near impossible.

This is one law in which I can actually say, "Good job - KEEP IT UP" to our lawmakers. I know that things won't be this easy, though.

Thanks good info! I'll see if it is online for C&D since I don't get that anymore - had too many magazines, not enough time to read them (pared it down to Popular Mechanics and Handgun Mag).

This is just a "Feel Good" law that can't be enforced. The general public will read the papers about how good it is that people can't text while driving and they will believe that no one will be texting anymore because of the new law. It very similar to the way the sheeple believe everything that has been in the paper about the "Alcohol and Guns don't mix" stories. If it's in the paper or on tv it has to be true.

Didn't you get the email? We are all a bunch of helpless fools, but our government is here to help us and thus save us from ourselves; the only catch is we have to pay for it - now and in the future (please send your kids to college, as they will need the earning power to pay down the debt).

They stopped short; they need to outlaw talking on a cell phone while driving.
Oh sure…. You can all do it just fine. That’s why you are out there in the left lane doing less than the speed limit, oblivious to what is going on, as everyone tries to get around you in the right lanes. Then you come here and post about how it is unneeded legislation. Some times common sense needs to kick in.
