I think a few missed my point. I was totally supporting the fact that we ARE that broke.

Did anyone actually read Al Qaeda's operations manual when they found it in Afghanistan and posted it? I wish I had saved the file as they took it down a few months later (wise move IMO). There was an entire chapter on target selection and it very heavily discussed the use of tactics to inflict economic damage. It included choices such as hitting major economic targets (e.g. the towers) and dragging the enemy (e.g. the U.S.) into drawn out wars that are expensive to fight (e.g. Afghanistan.)

Our war expenditures are a very big part of how our enemy's are trying to defeat us. They learned a lot from Russia's experience in Afghanistan and they're running the exact same play book with us.
