I guess the SADF doesnt have check out procedures in place before taking a passenger on a joy ride. LOL A very expensive mistake and the pilot, the joy riders friend, will be paying dearly on his FITREPS. Ooops

Well...on "our" ejection seats...its not so much a "cord" as it is a "loop" to "grab and hold on to"...that he either yanked it down or pulled it up to engage the system, then....WOOOOOOSH!!!! up up and away

I have a family member who ejected from an F-105 during the Vietnam War and it as so violent it medically ended his flying career.

Small price to pay to still be alive.
