Funny how folks have bought the idea that Kronkite, Rather, and the like were true Newsmen and discount everyone else as talking op ed heads. Just because they hide behind so called "journalism" doesn't/didn't make it so. Fox news is about the most straightforward news you can get. The fact that it seems so one sided should tell you something about the other guys news. All we have every gotten is the "other" side. Now that we get both sides it confuses some folks. Heck even the other guys own studies have shown that Fox was the most balanced of them all. MSNBC was the worst.

When a "news" agency reports even a little good news about Obama, it may roughly, possibly be considered "balanced" and not one-sided propaganda. Granted, this administration hasn't done anything good, I think. So, nothing to report there. Fox is bent against Obama and the result is an understandable backlash to fairness in the press pool.

I've said it many times on TGO. I won't adhere to any one station if I want to retain a macro view that gives me unbiased options. My views on religion, abortion, death penalty, world economy, guns, affirmative action, penal system, panhandlers, immigration, poverty, gay marriage, etc. etc. etc. don't fit me into any one party system.

Tally up Obama stories on FOX good vs. bad, and tell us it is balanced.
Tally up Obama stories on CNN good vs. bad, and tell us it is balanced.

This left/right, right/wrong side argument is exactly what keeps us stuck in the same place for I don't know how long.

Obviously, I'm the problem since no one can say "At least Jack took a side. At least he's on one of the two sides."

I wish I could find one station to fall in love with, like some the guys here, but I don't see balance anywhere.

You assume the rest of us are so unsure of our own beliefs and ideas that we need someone to tell us what they are. I am very capable of filtering what I see. However, I do like watching news that I don't have to work so hard just to watch.

I'm glad NPR is getting blasted on this topic. My anger with them goes back 2 or so years ago when the 7:00 show's DJ ___?___ Gross (or somebody) interviewed Richard Pryor about his use of a pistol considering that with MS he wouldn't have the strength to wield it if someone broke in. She kept saying, "Ha, Ha. ... Really, Richard. What are you doing with a gun?" Wouldn't let up. "Oh, you!"

Anyway, I voted into the top 1%, the "Neither" vote. (Thanks, PapaB!)

*I was amused at the appearance of trying to be on the honest side, the benevolent side when the OP said "Fox News is losing in an NPR Poll, but with the power of the Internet we can turn that around in a few hours"

As DaveTN said: "Internet polls are a waste. No one pays any attention to them; especially when you can vote as many times as you like. They are just to raise the site hit count"

With manipulation like that, what's the point of spending ten minutes re-voting?
