I can discern. Their op/ed shows teach people how to think. Fox news covers from a Neo-Con perspective while MSNBC covers from a Liberal Progressive perspective. These shows dont allow people to think for themselves.

This was your OP in the thread. There was no discernment in this statement; it was a generalization. Now, you are honing your remark, which I agree with.

Honestly, I want to see EVERY president harassed and forced to address tough questions from the media, regardless of their party. Thank goodness for Fox or we would have nothing but a bunch of cheerleaders peddling whatever this administration is selling.

As far as their actual news shows, I think Fox is the most balanced. As for their opinion shows, they tend to lean right. Although they do have people like John Stossel, Glen Beck, and Judge Andrew Napolitano who are Libertarians and aren't buying anything either party is selling. And yet others in the media refer to these guys as "conservatives", in spite of the fact that they are actually much more liberal(I mean the actual definition of liberal, supporting liberty, not the term "liberal" that is just a more palatable way of saying socialist) than anyone on the far left. Fox is the only network that I know of that is employing Libertarians now that Stossel came to Fox from ABC. The rest are pretty much just cheerleaders for one party or the other.

Glenn Beck is no Libertarian. He was a Neo-Con up until the Elections. He constantly bad mouthed the only Libertarian minded candidate in the republican primary. He supports an interventionist foreign policy, which is not very libertarian. He is simply trying to play on the growing split in the republican party.

I still think he is more of a Libertarian than he is a Republican or Democrat based on what I've seen. Though I admit that I don't watch Glen Beck's show regularly. I do try to watch it whenever Judge Napolitano is hosting though. You don't have to agree with absolutely everything a party stands for to be a member. I'm not even sure what a "Neo-Con" is. As near as I can tell it is a derogatory title given to anyone who disagrees with the far left and believes in fiscal responsibility and smaller government.

I like Judge Napolitano, he is consistent in his views and doesnt flip with a change in the political atmosphere. Judge Napolitano is going to be hosting Becks show tonight so it should be good.

He is the kind of person we need in office, or better yet on the Supreme Court.

I'll second that. If all the cards fall right it could be possible with the next president.

I started watching Glenn Beck by accident when he was on Headline News. I found that I agreed with many of the things he said and continued to tune in. Now that he's with Fox I still agree with most of what he says but his delivery has become a little more wacky. I think it hurts his credibility. He needs to go back to a more straight forward delivery.
