All these internet polls really tell us is how the people with strong opinions about the issue feel, people who don't really care aren't usually going to take the time to vote. Apparently those who strongly favor 2A and the right to self defense outnumber and/or are much more passionate about the issue than those who strongly oppose 2A and the right to self defense.
Based on just about every poll I have ever seen, support for stiffer gun laws has been declining for a few decades. The people who strongly favor 2nd Amendment rights seem to be getting much more active in politics too. Gun control was a hot button issue 20 years ago, now even politicians who hate the 2nd avoid the topic like the plague or lie and say they support the 2nd when they are up for election. We know how the current administration feels about the RKBA, voting history doesn't lie. But they are scared to death to touch it directly for fear that it would be political suicide, either for them personally or for members of their party. I'm now convinced that if we see any new gun control laws on the federal level, it will be backdoor stuff.
