Back then there were several back entrances with NO gates or security. The other gates were active armed MP's, but all one needed was a DL to get on base.

If I am not mistaken the lady who went before congress after her parents were killed in a multiple shooting, and she had left her weapon in her car?.....that was also in Killeen TX I do believe.

All of the back gates were covered when I was there. I bet you are meaning the ones on Old Range Rd. on both the Belton and Copperas Cove side. Not a lot of people knew about them, so it was quicker to get on post but, the did have armed guards.

To get on base with out a sticker & ID they redirected everyone out and told them to go to the Clear Creek entrance. That was where they gave passes to get on post and tossed the cars.

Just spoke with a buddy of mine in 1CD G2 and it was 3 soldiers that had were on orders to deploy.

It would seem a quick drop and a short stop is in order for those responsible. And that's me being civil.

I do believe this to be treason.

My thoughts and prayers with the victims and their families.

we had something like this at Pendelton back in the early 90's, I hope those responsible pay the ultimate prace for there actions

The shooter was identified as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, age 39.
