This is great news! Amongst all the charges and allegations against ACORN it never made sense to me why records were not confiscated a long time ago. It is now being done.

Getting a search warrant isn't easy. It's likely that they didn't have enough information to back up a search warrant in New Orleans at an earlier date. They mention that his one came as a subpeona which suggests that it is part of discovery during an on-going criminal or civil case.

I'm glad they were able to get this and hope Acorn didn't destroy files in anticipation of a search.

Better yet, I hope they deleted files and the FBI is able to recover them.

Yeah, deleting a file only gets the pointer. The data still exists. Most folks don't know that.
