Democratic Consultant Allegedly Warned From Appearing on Fox News By White House

Democratic consultant says he got a warning from White House after appearing on Fox News -- latimes.com

At least one Democratic political strategist has gotten a blunt warning from the White House to never appear on Fox News Channel, an outlet that presidential aides have depicted as not so much a news-gathering operation as a political opponent bent on damaging the Obama administration.

Political consultants are a staple of cable television talk shows, analyzing current events based on their own experiences working on campaigns or in government.

One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox, he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said.

The message was, " 'We better not see you on again,' " said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that "clients might stop using you if you continue."

In urging Democratic consultants to spurn Fox, White House officials might be trying to isolate the network and make it appear more partisan.

A boycott by Democratic strategists could also help drive the White House narrative that Fox is a fundamentally different creature than the other TV news networks. For their part, White House officials appear on Fox News -- but sporadically and with "eyes wide open," as one aide put it.

The White House has a real hard on for Foxnews. Fortunately, it seems most of the other news agencies are remaining neutral or even defending Fox. I think it's because they know if the White House succeeds with Fox, then the rest of them are in trouble too and will have to toe the line in order to access. Of course MSNBC gets down on their knees for the White House.

Hey, it's their loss. They can appear on BSNBC and reach an audience of about 12 brain dead morons who believe everything that anyone with a (D) behind their name tells them. Or they can go on Fox and reach tens of millions.

I think the White House war on Fox is having actually making thigs worse for them. I heard on the radio that the Tuesday elections, that the VA Governor and NJ Congressman were in, garnered the following viewership (approximate numbers my brain could remember):

    CNN 600,000 viewers
    CNN Headline News 800,000
    Fox 4,000,000 viewers

I think way more people are tuning in to see what the big deal on Fox is, and they are getting their eyes open.

Ok, I'm a Fox news fan and currently DESPISE the Democratic party, but this story seems a bit weird. The article said:

"The message was, " 'We better not see you on again,' " said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House.

He spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House? Unless several Democrats appeared on Fox news around the same time, and they were ALL warned, it would be pretty obvious who the 'anonymous' tipster was to the White House.

Shhh! Nobody ever said they were smart. If they were, they wouldn't be pushing Healthcare, Cap & Trade, Stimulus Spending, Gun Control, etc. etc.

I doubt snopes.com will be able to verify or debunk this, since it is a newspaper article with an anonymous source.
