  1. related question I tend to have more handguns than rifles that I want to secure but most of the safes seem to be setup for long guns. Did you see any there that had a lot of shelves for hanguns?   I will be rolling with a more value Branded safe. None of my guns have much value except to me and to keep them out of the hands of a punk that wants to rob someone.
  2. Mine was a ruger MKII .22 with a bull barrel. I still have it as it is currently my only .22 pistol. I really like it but I am looking for a new .22 to burn the range up with if ammo ever goes back to semi normal.
  3. I put in a backorder with them. Price was decent (for now) and if it shows up great and if it never does no skin off my nose. They don't charge till they ship.
  4. Well I actually found one in Nashville new in the box. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but I think I will do that this weekend. I didn't get a great deal on it but at least I supported a Nashville business and not some guy out in Ohio with this 3% cash discount off of Gunbroker.   Thanks to everyone that kept an eye out for me. Bad time to be looking for anything out of the norm.   Now to just find some more ammo.....
  5. I work in cool springs not too far from the Academy and I am tired of going in the place hoping to score one sad box of random Russian 9mm ammo there a couple times a week on my lunch break. It still better than Walmart though. I wont even bother going there anymore. Even if I catch a box a week of what I am looking for I don't want to pack up to go to the range for just 50 or 100 rounds. At the rate I am going I won't be able to collect enough to get to the range once before the 4th of July.    I am just not going to shoot for a while.
  6. I haven't seen any prices come down myself and the stores still seem pretty bare last time I checked which was just the middle of last week.
  7. I have really been wanting to shoot recently but I can't see paying super inflated prices for ammo even if I can find it. I am not well stocked, but I could go to the range a time or two if I wanted and still have enough to keep my guns loaded to carry around.    I still go by the usual places when I can to hope to score the random box of .40 or 9mm but I am not going to go over to gunbroker and pay 2-3 times the rate people paid for ammo retail just make myself feel better about my lack of planning.   Now once this buying frenzy is over I am going to slowly stock up. I wont be caught again.
  8. I either own or have shot many of the guns recommended and they are all good choices to look at. I wouldn't take any off the list.   That all being said, noone but you can decide on the gun that fits your hand best and its hard to find a good all around gun.   A gun that is highly concealable is not going to be a great gun at the range and something comforable at the range is rarely going to be the pocket rocket thats good to hide all the time. Nor is it going to have the mag size that I would prefer in a gun that I kept in my nightstand.    one gun is going to be a compromise and only you can make those choices.
  9. I think it all depends on what you have already. Ammo is going to come back at some point. I would like to buy a new 22 pistol if I wasn't holding tight to my cash for a walther PPS but I only have one .22 pistol and its a mark 2.   A 22 is next on my list
  10. I checked with Silvers and they have sold it already. According to the Walther forums there is supposed to be some coming from Germany this month to the USA but with all of the pent up demand, I am not sure its going to help much.
  11. I am short on 9mm but everything else I shoot I have enough assuming this foolishness ends in the next few months.   I don't feel motivated to pay a buck a round for 9mm online or run all over town for one box here and there.   I am looking when I get a chance though.
  12. I did check out Speciality Arms a couple weeks back and they were totally out of walthers.   Academy customer service said they would be getting some in a couple weeks in Franklin but they have raised their price to over MSRP if I even got lucky enough to get over there the day they show up. Everything goes fast there. Apparenty 10-20 guys are waiting at the store at 6am on truck days to grab whatever they get in stock.    I have never seen anything like it.
  13. Online is looking more an option. The shops I have talked to locally have been pretty much pushing me that direction.

same thing here. I really like the gun but the trigger is giving me fits.
  15. I have always said my collection would not be complete without one of these. I want one in 45 colt
