  1. Interesting. I remember my grandfather telling us about this. He worked there from the late 40's-70's.
  2. I sold a Gen2 23 back in the early 00's and have regretted it since. Especially now that I carry a 22. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
  3. I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread that I had a Dunhill and Castello to sell. Those are now in the Non-firearms classifieds.
  4. I know you posted this last month but check out Allens off Dover Road. Several months ago they were seeling them in the low $500 range.
  5. Will do. May do it in the next week or so, but I'll be listing a Dunhill, Castello, Bjarne and a few Peterson's.
  6.  I hear you. I have a patent era Dunhill Shell from the war years (1943ish) made after the factory was bombed. I'm just about afraid to smoke it much. It's one of the pipes I'll be letting go to fund some more gun purchases.
  7. It's a good bit sweeter, but just as smooth as the rest. I really enjoy it. Definitely worth a try.
  8. I've got about 30 pipes at the moment. I've been sorting through them lately trying to reduce it down to about 15. I mainly smoke my Ferndown's and Peterson's, but have a few Stanwell's, Dunhill's and a Castello. My Ferndown's are my favorites. I like just about everything McClelland puts out, but I mainly smoke 5100, Dark Star and Frog Morton on the Town. The new Frog Morton's Cellar is nice too. Other than that I smoke a decent bit of Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Dark Flake Scented and Brown Flake Scented. I used to smoke more often, but lately I've just been smoking 4 or 5 bowls a week. Usually on my way home from work.
  9. I was born in Chattanooga, raised in Lenoir City (moved to Alabama for a while) and spent early teens in Maryville (went to Alabama again) and moved back to Tennessee and floated between Nashville and Clarksville.   My favorite of the places I've lived is Nashville. I like Clarksville, but we'd still love to move closer to Nashville. Clarksville wants to be a big city, but the good ol' boys club wants to run it like it's still a town of 40,000 people. It takes me 45 minutes to drive 7 miles to get home after work due to traffic. When my wife worked in Nashville she could get home quicker than I could...    East TN is beautiful, but I'd rather not live in Maryville again... Knoxville, yes, Maryville no.    Another good website to use for real estate is the MLS. www.realtracs.com is good for Middle TN. We're looking to one day move to the Pleasant View area. Close to Clarksville for my work and close to Nashville for the wife.
  10. I was on a road trip 2 weeks ago and stopped at 3 Cabela's and 1 Scheel's and came home with, well lets say lots of ammo. I only bought 9mm and paid .29 cents per round at both stores.
  11. There was an H&R .410 for around $125 in the Peddler last week I think. Too bad you're clear scross the state.
  12. I'm the odd one with a small on the full size 9 and large on the compact 9.
  13. Thanks guys. I'm really enjoying this site. Don't know how I've missed it for so long.
  14. Hello, new member here from Montgomery County. Always shooting, looking at, reading about and thinking about guns.
