  1. I saw the Ochlockonee out yesterday afternoon on my way home from taking our trash to our office dumpster (figuring trash pickup for us backwoods people could be a while.) It was pretty damn cool. Was expecting a sudden surge at some point but by all local reports it just slowly came back up late in the evening. Anyway was interesting. No damage at my place in the woods in Wakulla County. Power out from 7am ET to 8:30 ET. Which is good didn't even burn a tank of gas in the generator. We lose power often from afternoon thunderstorms so not too big a deal. Was warned it could be weeks so its very good news. Tallahassee no where near as bad as Hermine last year, in town tonight monitoring traffic signals on generator power. Just a few this time. I think 9 right now at 1:20am. Last year was every signal the first night... Was told to "bring several days worth of clothes to work when I came in" likely going south to FDOT District 1 tomorrow. Haven't posted in a long time. Still out here lurking though.
  2. Just another Hispanic from Turkey... Arcan Cetin but he goes by Bubba Larry Gonzalez. He does kinda look Hispanic though. http://q13fox.com/2016/09/24/cascade-mall-shooting-suspect-in-custody/
  3. I was gonna suggest the caul fat too Greg. Although I have never tried it either.
  4. My sincere condolences to you and your family sir. It sounds as if you, and all of us, have lost a good man.
  5. do you have to register those real fancy kites? To quote a great friend: "to be a free country we sure do have a lot of rules"
  6. oops. Double tap due to slow hughesnet internet
  7. I really want a 3/4T 4wd, crew cab, long bed. Every so often I think I'd like one and then I look a little and I like my paid for 02 again. I worry more that it will be totaled somehow and then I'll be in a real spot. But I could really use the 4 full doors, 3 kids in car seats is a pain. But reality is I want my wife to get a newer van before I get a newer truck. And this time a size van not that mini van crap.
  8. I had a no soliciting sign on the old house. Some are stupid, can't read, or just ignore it. Now I'm in the woods behind a locked gate, with a nearly half mile driveway surrounded by national forest. If any one at all knocks on the door I'm gonna stick a .45 in their face and my wife is going to take the kids to the back bedroom and grab an AR. Ain't no cops going to be here in less than 40 minutes. We live too far out to play. Maybe we'll have a real go-getter magazine salesman one day so we can practice.
  9. I recall a dude named that once. Back in the 90's when the Kurds first showed up in Nashville. He picked up trash at the apartment complex where a bunch of em lived. We cut the grass there, it was a real dump as you can imagine. The little kids were scared as hell of him and he would jab them with the stick with the nail on the end that he used to pick up trash. And he looked like Saddam... Good entertainment for a 16 year old from lil ol Mt Juliet.
  10. I bought a 16+2 car hauler (except a wood deck) from Triune last week. It seems pretty well built, 5" channel frame and as good or better than any trailers we had when I was landscaping. Paint's decent. Came with radials which I wanted. Brakes on 1 axle. Only little things like the pins to hold the ramps in imo needed to be drilled to put a clip in bc I was afraid they'd bounce out. And I believe it needs side marker and clearance lights that it doesn't have. I'm also going to either wrap all the wire in wire loom or rubber fuel line slit to protect it. I never liked that how they all just run it through a torched out hole in the frame. I loaded it with the rest of my belongings in TN (yard stuff and tools) and drove to FL. It pulls great. I'm gonna throw another $200 or so at it and upgrade the tail lights to led, add marker lights, d rings, and put a tongue box on it. Then it'll be exactly what I want. Glad I bought it. After searching for a while I just couldn't find anything I liked used that was better than $1765 otd. I didn't have to pay tax though bc it was an out of state sale.
  11. A good example last week. Big outrage about the bear hunt they had down here in FL 2 weeks ago. I read a post from an Internet badass that said he was "going to go out in the woods on Saturday and find hunters and punch them in the face." Turns out I didn't here no news about that happening. But it's an example of the type you're speaking of.
  12. Only movies I've seen have been at the drive-in for 12 years or so. We've moved to FL and there ain't a drive in so I guess I wait til everything comes out on dvd. If there's a threat I'll grab my ar out from under the back seat and join in with all the other guys shooting at the bad guy. But as to the original question I think there's something odd going on or out of place at a theater, or anywhere, I'm first inclined to gtfo.
  13. Harbor Freight has a little set for like $6. I usually buy a set every now and then just to keep them around. For that price and the purpose I just consider them disposable but they're handy when you need them.
