  1. Beginning to plan for the upcoming Music City Chapter Elk Foundation Banquet. We had a nice event at The Barn at Sycamore Farms last year in Arrington, but have decided to host this year's at the Nashville Gun Club. As usual, we will have a nice catered meal with games, raffles and auctions (live and silent) Some of the highlights of this year will include. *Selling of chances to win a Hunt for two during the rut with a rifle in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area of Montana. Real Back Country Montana Hunting with a horse pack in and camping in wall tents. High success rate! We will have two of these hunts available. Will be $100/chance and there will be 400 tickets (200 each hunt). These will go on sale via QR code at our banquet. ***African trip with GP Footprint (Gerhard Pretorius). 7 day hunt including a night hunt for 4 hunters. Hunt includes all accomodations and a Baboon and Jackal per hunter (8 animals possible) with the opportunity to upgrade to any animal. You are responsible for airline travel to/from Polokwane, South Africa with pickup/drop off at airport by outfitter. This hunt will be live auctioned at our banquet. PBR trip for two to Las Vegas with tickets to all performances, 4 nights accomodations, travel to/from performances from hotel. This will be an early November trip. $50/chance (Only 100 will be sold) We will also have a hefty gun package to raffle off. Numerous AR-15s, Weatherby Vanguards as well as Springfield XDs, and the 2022 RMEF Gun of the Year , a Kimber 1911 in 10mm. I will update as we gather more and more info. If interested in joining us for the night, sign up for a membership or just volunteering to help the night of the banquet, all participants are welcome!
  2. The next 2 weekends... how are they compared to Murfreesboro/Franklin/Lebanon?
  3. I’m guessing that I’m not alone when I say that I have learned a lot in 2020! I’ve learned that the grocery store won’t always have what my family needs, guns and ammunition have become something of a commodity and the Government sure isn’t going to take care of my family better than I can! So, yes; I’ve made some changes this year. I never owned a gun before and now there are four in my household. Although I’ve received the most training, my wife and our 19 year old son have also received training and shoot as often as we can at our local range, as well as to have added a MantisX and dry fire routine. We had “enough” supplies to get through this year’s COVID quarantine, but I’m concerned that more hard times could be just around the corner and I know I could use some input, encouragement and direction from local, likeminded people. So, my first question is, “What part of TN do you live in”? And secondly, “Do you have a group of like minded, local folks that help you prepare for difficult times?” and if you don’t have anyone, do you have any interest or desire to do so? As a response to my own questions, I live in Franklin, TN and would very much like to connect with people who want to build community, help share prepping ideas and be a “friend close by”, which is better than a brother far away... Thanks, Ray
  4. Made the trek to the show this am. The crowd was unbelievable. By far the largest I've seen there. Prices? As expected, thru the roof. Saw one box of hunting ammo, box of 20, $80.00. Other ammo ran pretty much in the same track. One dealer had numerous cases of assort. ammo, priced on the roof, people lined up to buy, apparently at any price. Folks, it's going to be a long time before this changes. There was still long lines waiting to get in.
  5. RK shows back in Lebanon tomorrow & Sun. Anyone going? Guess I'll give it a look, just for the heck of it.
  6. Just checked R K Shows site, the Lebanon show is still on, but "masks required". FWIW
  7. According to R K website. the show for this weekend is Postponed. No further dates given.
  8. Had to make a stop there anyway. Small building at Fairgrounds/Speedway. Got there early and few people in until about 11:00 then it got packed. Typical high retail prices with dealers and private sales tables, but a lot of nice guns brought in and lots of selling and buying on floor. ,left at 1:00 packed and cars still looking for parking. If anyone needing hunting camo Eagles Of War Surplus closing and all clothing fifty percent off, good supply but mostly XS thru Large. Very little XL-XXl.
  9. If anyone interested, R K Shows will be in M'boro this weekend, at the Expo ( usual site ). Certainly not in the class with Tulsa, but usually the largest in this area. Guess I'll go kill some time there, not really looking to buy anything, just enjoy going.
  10. R.K. Shows will be at the Wilson Co. Expo/fairgrounds, this coming weekend, if anyone is interested. I plan to go & try to sell my Walther PPQ M1 40 S&W. Hrs. 9-5 Sat 9-4 Sun Adm. $10, free parking, very nice facilities.
  11. Went to the gun show at Lebanon this AM. Decent show, now put on by C&E Shows. Good crowd. Carried a pistol to sell, lots of look, no buyers. Not sure if any "panic buying" has set in yet, but seems that "panic pricing" has. Saw lots of AR/AK type rifles, priced at $1300 to $1600. These were run of the mill guns, not high end stuff.
  12. FWIW, C&E Gun Show ( formerly Goodman ), scheduled for Jan. 19 & 20, 2019, for Lebanon,TN, has been cancelled, according to their website. No explanation given. Next scheduled event, at this time, is in Sept. 2019. Was kinda curious as to what their show would bring to the table (pun ).
  13. No longer, sold out. Update on C@E Show Site&Goodman Site.
  14. New to the area and state and looking to find a place that allows bolt action rifle deer hunting around the area. Can't find much on Google. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thank you!
  15. If you like turkey shoots there will be one in Lebanon over the next few Saturdays. Times are 8am to around noon. Any shotgun any choke. Max barrel is 36 inches. $5/ shot prizes include turkeys, country Hams, and 5lb. packs of thick sliced bacon plus a few money rounds. Located at the Wilson County fairgrounds. Use the Peyton road entrance. Bring your kids or grand kids it's a good family friendly event. Sponsored by the General Robert Hatton Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  16. R K Shows will be back in the 'boro tomorrow & Sun, if anyone's interested. I plan on being there Sat. Am for a bit. 1660 Middle Tenn Blvd. Mid-Tenn Expo Center.

  23. Got there about 9:30 lot full but plenty of walking room inside. Lots of guns being walked in long guns and handguns, most good price. Guns on tables were only 30 percent over retail instead of usual 50 percent, because of gun prices now. Good price on ammo from the large Dickson dealer, even twenty two's. Cool air which I think is new for there 80-100/ tables. Great America shows or what ever they go buy. i enjoy the small shows better than the Lebanon ones which I dislike. Sunday 9-4?
  24. It's been a while since we have done one of these. A long while! Years! How many of you would be interested in doing a Saturday "Meet n' Greet n' Shoot" here in the mid-state area just outside of Nashville at an outdoor shooting range?
