Regarding the recent tone of posts...

I want to post a warning regarding the recent tone and content of posts being made in this forum.

Please, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the rules for this sub-forum:

Take this as your warning for posters on ALL SIDES of the issues. If you cannot make a post that debates the ISSUE, then don't post. If you feel the need to call the other side of the issue any name that may be derogatory, your post will quickly be deleted, and very well may lead to a recommendation for banning of the temporary or permanent nature depending on the severity and frequency of your transgressions.

Please do not force the moderators of this forum to lay down the law. Keep your tone respectful and your insults to yourselves or your stay in this sub-forum will be abbreviated. I'd like to see this become a place where we can have open and honest discourse, and perhaps even learn a thing or two about opposing viewpoints. Sometimes, we will just have to agree to disagree and move on, there's nothing wrong with doing that. We all must realize that we all view the world through our own personal prism, and not everyone will reach the same conclusions as we do.

Re-read your posts before you hit "Submit", and if you wouldn't want someone talking to your momma that way, then find a better way to re-word it.

I would like to add to what Hyaloid has said above.

The primary purpose for TGO's existence is to provide a place where our members can discuss firearms and relevant matters of importance. There are other forums on the Internet where the focus is on engaging in philosophical debates (or arguments) about political issues.

That is not our focus here.

From time to time it may become apparent to the Staff of this forum that a person has become a member of TGO just to argue their particular political slant, whatever it may be. We may tolerate this for a period of time, but ultimately a decision may be made by the Staff to remove that person from the TGO community because they are contributing very little to the stated purpose of TGO's existence.

An example of this would be a person signing up as a member of TGO for the sole sake of finding sadistic glee in arguing their Leftist beliefs with our largely conservative, Right-leaning membership base. That person will be shown to the door more often than not, not because their beliefs buck status quo, but because they are here only to proselytize their beliefs rather than advance our common bond of 2nd Amendment freedoms and related discussions.

Just let this be a fair warning to anyone who comes to TGO expecting to troll our forums for the sake of hunting Conservatives. It will not be tolerated.
