Update For Week Of June 29, 2009

Good morning all...

TGO is growing! In fact, we've already hit 4,300 registered members and are well on our way to hitting 4,500 before August. It's exciting to see the community growing by leaps and bounds and to see new shooters joining the ranks every day.



Hopefully by now all of you have noticed the discussion about the Celebration Of Liberty [link] that TGO is co-hosting with The Outpost Armory and Barrett Firearms, Inc. this upcoming October 17th. If you haven't read about it yet, be sure to visit that thread. Things are shaping up nicely for it and all of us involved in the planning process are tremendously excited about the event.

From a quick look at the poll this morning, it appears that the Middle Tennessee Meet & Shoot will be on Saturday, July 18th. We will be having this at the Owl Hollow shooting range just outside of Spring Hill.

Look for a formal announcement in the Events forum later today.

Moderator Changes

As TGO grows we also have to evolve to make sure that we are doing things fairly. Lately that has meant re-evaluating our practice of allowing Vendors to be Moderators.

While I firmly believe that none of our Vendor/Moderators have ever abused their power or influence, there was nevertheless the appearance that it could happen and sometimes grumblings from people that it had happened.

Therefore it is in the best interest of TGO to halt the practice of allowing Vendors to moderate any forums outside of their own vendor-specific forums. This move ensures parity among our Vendors and ensures that any actions taken by the moderating team are taken fairly and without bias.
