Slow steps. Remember she hated the idea of shooting before, so gently guide her. If she wants the 25, go with it. In time, if she sticks with it, she'll graduate to calibers worth carrying. The worst thing you can do is try to force a woman to do ANYTHING.

+1.....walk before you run. Any gun is better than what she has been carrying, right? Let her grow into it. IF she decides she wants something else, and it is her idea, then do it then, not now.

Pfft. Caliber arguments. Everybody knows that anything less than a .45 will just piss off your attacker.

Which is why REAL men carry 10MM in an auto pistol/44 MAG in a revolver, right? :)

Not too long ago .380 was the most widely used PD gun caliber in the WORLD. It is still largely issued in Europe and many other places.

But, Europeans are pansies, and very easy to kill

What's not affordable about it??? If memory serves my G20 wasn't significantly more expensive than any of my other Glocks and ammunition cost for just about any Man-sized caliber is pretty much the same no matter what caliber you buy. :)

Well, everywhere I've seen a box of 50 10mm is somewhere in the neighborhood of $30. I'll stick to .45 in the range of $15-$20. :P

Yeah; it is a bit more expensive but my practice ammo is $22/box of 50 (I buy online).

Did I lose my man card for having the 44 in an automatic?

Not at all...it's just that I have an S&W 29 8 3/8th and when I think 44 Magnum, I tend to think "Dirty Harry" and revolver. :)

If you don't reload you can always get the 10mm glock and convert it to .40 for around $120. I am a recent convert from .45 to 10mm. I can tell you there is no comparison. I have shot deer with both. With .45+p you get to track for 15 minutes and still find it wheezing. With the 10mm you see it flop once and die. That's just my experience with a few deer though. Of course my 30-06 does better. :)

A long long time ago, before we were dating, I overheard
my Fiancé stating "Never will I hold a gun", implying that the guns themselves are evil.

Just the other day, she told her mother "I somewhat enjoy shooting". Things change;)

She fired one of our friend's Beretta .25's. She liked it because it was small and didn't cause discomfort. I have talked her into getting her CPL, and she wants one of those small guns.

I am between a rock and a hard place trying to become comfortable to the idea of such a small caliber. I would love to get her a revolver, .38. However, I would rather her get something she loved and would enjoy practicing with vs something she wouldn't. Should I go for one of those small Beretta's in .25 or .32? Or should I attempt to sway her a bit further into a higher caliber?

This thread is getting pretty far off track from the OP. Lets try to get back on track and stick to CZ9MM's original question. Thanks.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think the OPs question was answer satisfactorily a long time ago...the rest of us were just talking. :)
