I saw this the day before Easter and I am not sure if it would be correct, since the dog park is already in another park. So when you see this sign, you are already in violation because you can't carry in some parks. And to add in more confusion, some parks you can carry in Clarksville.

I can see CCW in some parks since there is shady characters in some parks ; even dangerous dogs.. And to have the sign well into the park doesn't sit well with me either. I have enclosed a link for the picture of the sign, since it doesn't really follow what most signs say about prohibited weapons inside a public area. Hell, it isn't in the Clarksville Parks website under 'Bark Park' http://www.cityofcla...ks/Barkpark.php

SIgn is exactly what the parks statute (39-17-13) calls for, verbatim, as it must be. Seems to also be of legal minimum size too, which is also specified.

A city/county may post selective parks, they don't all have to be same status. Assuming it's valid that the dog park is indeed a separate park entity, I don't see a glaring legal issue myself.

It even restricts the dog's poop, well the owner has to make reparations. Where is this park? How dare them!

It's inside the Heritage Park area, right past the skate board park on your right when you enter.

My kids have grown up. Been a while since I've been there. I really never made it past the first couple soccer fields.

I take my dogs here. Heritage park is one of those parks that Clarksville opted out of, like the park on Riverside. The entire park is no carry, to include the bark park. I still like taking my dogs there along with my son. It's pretty safe despite the area, and often times there'll be a CPD officer in the parking area doing paperwork.

This was voted on a while back. There is a complete list of which parks are no carry in Clarksville on the city website.

Here is the link to parks in Clarksville where you can't carry. Obviously the bark park is a part of Heritage Park which is on the list.

As posted above the City of Clarksville passed a resolution to prohibit carry in parks, and that is the sign required by state law.
