For the Libertarians Planning to write in Ron Paul

Recommended Posts

No matter how much I agree with Dr. Paul, I do not intended to write him in if he is not the nominee. Although, I am still on the fence about Gary Johnson and need to do more research before just jumping into his camp. I generally don't support folks with ties to the Council on Foreign Relations.

Well atleast you have a third option may not be much as far as others always voting blue or red and may not have the best chance of winning but atleast there will be an actual option other than "Business as usual " at the voting booth I hope they let him in on the debates that is what I want to see

Romney how do you feel about the ndaa that obama signed into law .

Romney : Well I support the President in that regard and I think he was looking out for our best interest we can use it to go after terrorist .

and how about you Gary Johnson :

I think its a disgrace and a repulsive invasion on the freedoms of the american people and would do my best to see it and the patriot act aswell as other unconstitutional Laws and Regulations Repealed Just as soon as I can get my pen in hand .

That would sure turn some heads

If you vote the lesser of two evils, you're still voting for an evil.

True, but make sure your definition of that "evil" is right.

When you compromise between good and evil, evil always wins. We may compromise this time, but any way we vote,

there will most certainly be a compromise between the desireded results and one's best intentions, philosophically.

The system allowed it because of a large amount of complacency and corruption of the political class. I hate to use the word "class"

like that, but it fits.

Oh, I'm definitely glad there is a viable 3rd option. Also, I agree with a number of policies he advanced in NM as governor. I'm just leery politicians and CFR ties, even though tenuous.

To me, yes it is. And on top of that, I'm pretty tired of folks trying to "guilt" others into voting for someone just to keep someone else out of office.

Well, If I have turned it into a guilt thing, I'm sorry. We're an opinionated bunch.:) I like Gary Johnson. Unfortunately, he will wind up with a real small percentage of the total votes. I can't vote for him and make him president. I guess folks are just baffled why somebody would ignore the reality of the numbers. Personally, I really want Obama gone. I don't think the economy will recover until he is. Voting for Gary won't help me move in that direction.

Any vote that isn't for Romney is a vote for Obama.

Regardless of your opinion, what you have to ask is, are you so willing to prove your unhappiness that you would squander your vote and allow Obama to be the president for another four years.

Can anyone say, "Ross Perot"? That caused two terms of Clinton.

Not viable at all. His best showing will be 3rd place, if Mickey Mouse doesn't kick his ass. Again, I like the guy. He just can't beat the two big machines with 20 bucks and a little Internet buzz.

I'm hoping Gary Johnson will choose Ron Paul as his Vice President pick after the Republican Convention. If that happens I would probably suspect most if not all the Ron Paul following will vote Libertarian. Although, Judge Andrew Napolitano would be a great choice also.

You don't seem to know much about the party you're now touting.

Their convention was in early May -- Johnson doesn't pick his veep, it's done by convention vote. They chose an ex judge named Jim Gray from Kali.

...The two party system is established. It's not going anywhere. You will never have enough votes to change that. Not without drastic societal changes. And by drastic, I mean violent. Sweet little sugar coated hopes and dreams of a third party president aren't gonna cut it. Voting third party doesn't make you the enemy. It just makes you irrelevant in today's America.

Isn't it odd how some people refuse to understand that?

What I find most strange are those who feel that because Romney isn't "X" enough for them, they seem to believe that (or at least are willing to accept) continuing to move toward socialism is somehow as a superior position to take

There you go again, trying to do people's thinking for them.

Not everyone sees it the same way as you.

You really call a .5% vote share a "viable option", huh?

If it's only .5% (and I suspect it might be close), then I'm not so worried about folks jumping in that pile. Almost insignificant in terms of potential damage. He might even steal a couple from the commies.

All third parties combined got less than 1.5% in '08. I imagine that will be about the same this year.

Viable != likely to succeed.

It only means capable of success or likely to germinate. A glimmer of a chance is better than none.

Again this thread wasnt meant for Romney Pushers but rather to point out that there is a third option for those Planning on writing in Paul or not vote at all If Paul doesnt get the Nomination or others that are fed up with having to vote between two people who are no different whatsoever , In our Veiw a vote for Romney is the wasted vote and even if Romney wins it will be four more years of Obama so just Lay off would ya because I / We understand quite well that voting for either of those two is the same thing as voting for what we currently have .But we have a Third Option and that is what this thread was supposed to be about not a huge bicker match about Romney Im so sick of hearing about Romney and Obama , I just want to give up completely Im sorry to say I was ever a Republican They have shure came along way from what Bush Ran on his First go around . Now its a completely Obvious "In your face" Type of Totalitarianism going on in this country with both partys that I and many others refuse to support it anymore There is no debating that Fact and it cannot be changed by stating how bad Obama is because it will be no better with Romney and Please dont take this the wrong way though you may think its delusional to think GJ might win therefore why vote for him "we can atleast try and vote to try and take back our country" On the Other hand we see a Vote for Romney because you hate Obama as delusional because there is no difference between the 2 . The best argument I have heard for voting for Romney is his nominations , and to me thats not good enough to others it may be just leave well enough alone and vote for more of the same isnt good enough anymore sorry for ranting / Must be feeling Frisky today :S Edited by plank white

NOT capable of success. Like trying to take down Coca Cola with a lemonade stand. It could be damn good lemonade too. Doesn't matter.

Absolutely! I will not support the Republican party until they present a decent candidate, and not "some guy who isn't Obama".

So, I guess you could say, you are the 1% :). I see what you're saying, even though Joe Sixpack actually put Romney in the slot.

Now why would you want to put the idea of failure into a budding young entrepreneur? :)

Nothing in life is certain except for, well you know... :D
