Boy Scouts Allow Gays

Recommended Posts

Strange to me , I've got nothing against gay people , but why allow them as children to sleep and camp together ?

Oh boy , here we go ............ :hiding:

Why don't Boy Scouts sleep with Girl Scouts ?.... :hiding:

Good question , how about the leaders ?

I don't think a gay man should be a troop leader , sorry.

I'm not a hater but I think stuff like this starts early in childhood , and most abusers take advantage of young children.

How about this - we just stop celebrating everyone's sexual proclivities. As long as the adults aren't molesting the kids lets just stop talking about it so much. Whatever happened to basic decency wen people wouldn't dare talk about their sexual relations in public? Jeez

This has been in the news lately:

A good example of why allowing gays (boys and/or adults) in Boy Scouts is just going to complicate things.

I was a registered leader for 10 years. Boy Scout troops have enough problems without opening membership to gays.

Question on fairness.

If two gay scouts are in the same troop will they be able to share a tent?  If so, in an attempt to be fair should not the non-gay Scout be able to have his girlfriend with him?

I would agree with this but I tend to doubt that most gays are abusive. If we as gun owners start getting on the bandwagon of blaming a whole group for the actions of a few we may as well just give up now. Oh wait, this is different. This is for the children.

I tend to agree with you. While by no means necessarily an accurate representation of the entire gay population, the few I've known and had as coworkers have been honest and genuinely decent people. I wouldn't be concerned in the least if one of them happened to be a scout leader.

Just wish some would stop advertising it. Gay? Straight? Fine by me. I don't care. I really have no need to know.

Pretty sure more straight priests have diddled little boys than gay men have. It's not often gay men get accused of molestation vs straight men.

??  if ur diddling little males, you aint straight. Priest or otherwise.

i always thought the boys scouts were kinda gay anyways.

That's sad , because they are not. This discussion is about letting the gay men or boys join , I'm assuming that means they are " out of the closet ". As I posted earlier , I DO NOT APPROVE.

RIP America

Agreed.

When a Christian organization for children is allowed to be "bullied" into compromising their religious faith to accommodate people who do not share their basic tenants, values or beliefs, essentially corrupting the organization's premise for existing in the first place, this nation as we once knew it is doomed, doooooooooomed I tellzya!

I am not kidding btw, very serious subject, I just like typing "doomed, dooooooooomed I tellzya!" Because it makes me look cool kind of like Fonzi, only without the painful herpies or the gay leather jacket... wait ... what?

Gay, straight... I don't see how sexual orientation one way or the other should be a topic of discussion during scouting activities. It's inappropriate. I was a scout until I was 10 or 11. We knew who the queer kids were, just like in school. I don't see how it affected anything other than them being made fun of for being girly. Maybe that will change. Other than that, anyone bringing up sexual orientations (hetero or otherwise) should not be doing so during scouting activities, so what's the problem?

To be fair, 61% of voting members of the BSoA voted in favor off this. They weren't exactly bullied. They could have just as easily voted against it, just like they did with allowing openly gay leaders.

The BSA is NOT a Christian organization.

Declaration of Religious Principle

The Boy Scouts of America maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God and, therefore, recognizes the religious element in the training of the member, but it is absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward that religious training. Its policy is that the home and organization or group with which a member is connected shall give definite attention to religious life. Only persons willing to subscribe to this Declaration of Religious Principle and to the Bylaws of the Boy Scouts of America shall be entitled to certificates of membership.

Why not?  They are abusive.....VERBALLY with all the diatribe about gay rights and demanding a tolerant society towards them even though they are one of the most intolerant people on the face of the earth to others, SOCIALLY by parading around 3/4's nekkid with their tongues down each others throats on TV and any where they can get a crowd together or a TV camera on them, they are also morally corrupt.

How dare they demand to be treated like normal people?  The nerve of some people!
