Do any of you feel anxious when you carry?
So true, I used to pull and tug on my shirt to keep mine covered, but now it's like if you see it so what.
Yep. I've gotten so used to seeing those large phones on people that I don't notice OCers unless I'm right next to them and do a double take. I see their gun out of the corner of my eye and assume it's a cell phone. I was at Lowes last week and was standing right next to an old fella who was OCing. Was standing there for a good few minutes until I noticed it wasn't a cell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

With so many people carrying huge phones on their belts theses days, I believe most people, if they see a bulge, just assume it's a phone.

Or they just smile at you and think your REALLY happy

It took awhile to become completely comfortabe to carry a pistol.  Time and finding a good holster will contribute much to becoming comfortable.

I carried in a cheap holster for a while. When I finally got a good quality holster, it was night and day difference. Of course we didn't have as many choices then as now. Which makes not having one now inexcusable. Also, as stated above, now I would feel anxious without carrying.

At the risk of playing word games, I have at times felt uncomfortable if not anxious.  I decided it's more of a set up issue for me and if I hit on the right holster, etc. for the situation while I know the gun is still there I don't really think about it and it doesn't bother me.  Like others have mentioned I don't really think most people even think to notice as they're busy thinking about what's for supper or whether Kim's new marriage will work out.  As a disclaimer, I'm so fat I could probably carry anything short of a full size in a fat fold.

So much good advice and truths here, I hesitate to add anything short of expanding upon the comments about selecting the right gear. Unless you've been around those who carry for a while, you'd never know how important something as simple as a proper belt and correctly fitting clothing really are for EDC. They are the cornerstones of comfortable concealed carry. Once you get that first really good, stiff, thick belt that feeling of anxiety will dwindle quickly. Edited by BigK

When i started carrying - I was self conscious. Carrying more often helped me get over it. Carrying around the house got me used to it. When you're used to it - all the things that draw attention to the fact that you're carrying will stop (adjusting your belt, shirt/cover garment, pushing the holster around, the way you move your arm on the side you're carrying.

It also helps to know that everyone's so engrossed in their own life/cellphone/shopping cart that they don't pay attention to ANYTHING, let alone my OWB holster with a light shirt over it. They're not going to see a bump and think it's a cellphone - because they're never going to see the bump... unless you bring it to their attention.

Seriously, full size pistol in a raven concealment style holster - tshirt untucked over it. Only people that notice are other people that are carrying or people whose job it is to notice.

Finally, don't carry where you shouldn't; do carry where you should.

When I look at the world today I get anxious if I go out and don't have my carry weapon on me. So I don't leave home with out at least one and sometimes 2 depending on where my travels may take me..........jmho....

Been carrying a gun so long that anymore I almost forget its there.  Occasionally you'll get some frumpy busybody soccermom who'll look at you disapprovingly, but I usually write that off as her just being an ignorant frigid bitch on the verge of making the jump to full-blown lesbianism ;)
