Do you need it for a US parts count?

If not I will sell you mine for $20 shipped. I have to buy a US made one for my conversion.

I have met the count for conversion when mine was made. I will take you up on it if it comes with the detent and spring. Just PM me.

Is yours for a 7.62x39???

so what exactly needs to be done to the back end of one of these pistol to accept a stock? Do you need to drill holes, etc?

Also, I'm guessing the engraving rule applies to these as well? Where do people normally do the engraving on an ak receiver?

It depends on what kind of stock you plan on using. With the ACE folder I added I had to drill two holes and I had to make an angled spacer to bring the rear of the stock up some. Then it is just a matter of bolting everything together. I think pretty much any way you are going to go will require two holes to be drilled. I have seen pictures of people welding a castle nut to the back then install a standard AR buffer tube gut that will not work for a folder. They do make cheap folder mechanisms that use a buffer tube but they are not very durable.

The best way, although a bit heavy, is to use a ACE or Stormwerkz folding mechanism and a Manticore stock. The package will run you about $175 shipped. It is about as easy as it gets as far as making an SBR out of these M85/M92 pistols.

I found a polymer stock that looks like a Krinkov stock so I chopped off the part that normally goes into the receiver of a rifle. Then I drilled and installed some threaded inserts and then I attached it to the ACE folder. It saved me at least 2 pounds but it is hardly plug and play like the setup above.

As far as engraving I will have mine done in about any open space. The guy that does mine does it while I wait and charges $25. His setup takes about 5 seconds to do the engraving and the AR lower I did is about .010" deep which is over 3x the requirement. My Ti tube he engraved is about .006" deep which is twice as deep as it needs to be. In the steel of the AK receiver it should be somewhere in between these two. If he can I will probably have it done on the underside in front of the magwell or on the left side of the receiver because there is a lot of open real estate.
