Some radio host has threatened to do just that along with filing false reports through 911 of shots fired and man down. He then claims he'll flop on the floor and act like he's been shot.

Tell the truth, I wish I'd be there to see it camera phone out and ready. Best case scenario he leaves in handcuffs after endangering the safely of other, filing false reports, interfering with LEO engaged in the course if their duties, etc. worse case he lies there on the floor looking stupid while I stand there and record him looking stupid. Either way the real winners are the internets who get to laugh when its on YouTube later.

I think there could be a few ways anti-gunners could schmuck things up, but this isn't one if them, provided the carrier of the weapon handles the situation like the joke that it is.

Sounds to me like Kroger doesn't care one way or the other, they're just trying to sell groceries. I really hope this doesn't turn into what happened with Starbucks last year, where they made the same statement and gun owners mistook it as support, then flooded their stores open carrying rifles and hand cannons as a way to show solidarity with Starbucks. All it did was make gun owners look looney, since it brought out the loons, and gave us too much negative press.

Kroger could not care less about your right to carry. I'm okay with that. They just sell groceries. The only pat on the back Kroger should get is for not caving to bullies, but I suspect if research showed more support for this Mad Cow Moms organization, they'd be posting.

I realize it is every ones right to carry as they choose and I do shop at Kroger 99.9 % of the time for groceries and to date I have yet to see an open carry in the store. I have not even see a print in the store. I carry concealed in the store but then I carry concealed every where I go. Yea, thanks for the link Tartanphatom. That's pretty much exactly what will happen here.  As much as I would like to think that folks won't ruin it for us, we already have photographic proof in this thread that some folks absolutely will turn it into a contest to see what window licker will be first to shop for Fruity Pebbles with an AR-15 slug across their back.

I was thinking the same thing David but didn't want to put it out there but I fear it will happen but I still think these people that do this for the most part are anti-gun people. I am waiting to see how long it takes for the long gunners to show up. You can bet if the Mad Cows don't get a satisfactory decision from Kroger pretty fast they will begin sending in the big guns. I wish a few good ole boys could get one of them in a wood shed someplace and find out who's side he is really on. If someone could prove they are really the Anti-gun people it would sure put one hell of a dent in their armor.............jmho

I'm sure Kroger execs would prefer the entire subject to simply go away, not receive more attention, from either side.

As has been stated before in other posts most all of these companies exist solely to lighten our pocketbooks. They couldn't care less what Joe Consumer does as long as it doesn't harm business. It is a shame that people have to turn this stuff into a political fight that it should not be...

If Kroger has to make a choice, between Moms against guns and open carry, I dare say Moms will win. As has been stated in other post, Kroger sales groceries. Moms buy groceries. :meh: Don't give them an issue and there won't be one. Keep your gun out of sight.

FWIW, I simply thanked them for adhering to state laws regarding firearms regulations. No mention by me one way or the other of whether I carry, plan to carry, whether I am pro- or anti-, whether I am a Kroger customer or not.

 

I got a canned response which mirrors their public response almost word-for-word.

 

Of course, there's always going to be someone who will pee in the pool simply for attention, and ruin it for everyone else.

I believe the only reason that Target, Chipotle, Chili's and Starbucks did what they did was to get the Mommies Against Everything to SHUT UP and GO AWAY, and it worked like a charm.

Folks post on forums to send thanks for that = more people seeing that, posting same on other forums and send "thanks"

 

Which leads to the opposition noticing and sending in opposite view = polarizing correspondence battle, likely a Starbucks type boycott effort from the antis.

 

Which eventually leads to more direct expression = antis picketing and pros open carrying. With our luck maybe the Open Carry Texas cretins will jump in too.

 

Then eventually Kroger will have to make a more stringent official policy, and then boycott effort from the pros.

 

It's an old story, can have no better outcome for our side than the current policy.

Wouldn't something like that be a felony, especially with the whole thing about publicly threatening it first?

It's been said already so I will beat the dead horse. Conceal carry and NO one knows the different. I have seen open carry and watched them as they shopped. Looks to me like they are trying to get a response out of someone. Not to mention IF the SHTF they will be the first to be targeted. I prefer to go low and slow

Well, I think Kroger is about the biggest retailer the Moms club has jumped on. Target was big but does not even get near the power of Kroger. Unless Kroger Stores do experience what the Target Stores did in much bigger numbers I believe Kroger will pretty much stand their ground on their decisions and will not be Bullied.....................jmho
