Folding SB 47 or SB15 brace ?

Recommended Posts

Has the ATF ever ruled that you can make the Sig Brace fold ? Because they said it is not a  a STOCK , it might be OK but I am not sure that a folding BRACE might get into a gray area .

I saw where , I think CNC was going to produce some but can't find that is has been approved to make them fold.  It would be nice for my M92 but I would like to see an approval letter if one is out there .

The paragraph pictured Above is the ATF letter that comes with the SB15

It clearly says Does not convert ....and..would not alter the classification of a pistol or other firearm

so since a side folding "pistol"  buffer tube is completely legal and "Not a Stock" according to the above attaching the brace to a PISTOL or other FIREARM does not alter classification

To my knowledge, there is nothing you can put on the ass end of a firearm that has ever been ruled unlawful except of course a stock in certain configs or a device that allows full auto fire.

A folding adapter is no more unlawful to add to any firearm than a banana. I'll be doing a folding brace on an AK pistol at some point, sort of waiting for the SIG SBX to be released as that's the one I want to use.

What actually counts in legal OAL is another discussion, though.
