.22 in Wal-Mart October 4th

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this had been posted already, but I went to the Knoxville Wal-Mart today and there was a sign up confirming that they would have CCI 100 round SV paper boxed packs on October 4th for their firearm clearance event. Limit 3 per person, starts at 8:00am, limited supply. Spoke with the guy at the counter and he said he thinks it's for every Wal-Mart in the area as long as they have a firearm section. Gl getting some all!

I can think of at least 6 Knoxville Walmartses just offhand.  Any one in particular?  Or is this a local/regional/national event?

Edit: Oops.  Looks like it's at least regional.

Oh, Ya, sorry about that. If it matters it was the Chapman highway Wal-Mart. From what I understand, if there's a firearm clearance event banner hanging up near the firearms, they will have the ammo. It's supposed to draw people in for the event. Forgot to mention that the flyer also said ZQI ammo would be 20% off too, but with the price I saw on them, you'd be better off buying online. I guess the Lenoir City location isn't having a clearance sale although they do have a firearms section.  I was in there yesterday evening and the only sign pertaining to .22 ammo was the same one that they have had up for months - the one that reads, "We are currently out of .22 ammo."  I remarked to the guy working that department (who regularly works in sporting goods) that one of these days I'm going to come in, that sign will be gone and they will have .22 ammo on the shelf.  He just kind of chuckled and said, "It'll never happen."

Well that's a bummer JAB, wish I could offer more info to you all, but I don't know what stores are participating. Having seen this elsewhere online and actually seeing the little flyer printout at the store leads me to believe that it's gonna be a pretty big event, but you never know. One way or another, if you're near that Wal-Mart on Chapman, I at least know they're gonna have some.

The line of inbred gougers and their kin would make a telling photo op.  We should all take our cameras to every Walmart in TN on Oct 4 and take a pic of the first 10 or 20 people in line.  I wonder how many actually shnoot .22.  There are a lot of people making serious profits off of panic buyers, while perpetuating an  artificial scarcity.

Ya, it's more expensive than it used to be, and you can probly get it cheaper online if you're on when some happen to pop into stock, but honestly 7.50 for 100 isn't terrible by today's standards, at least it's CCI and not thunderbolts. Just figured I'd let everyone know for those of us that can't camp out at 6:00am.

8.2 cents per round is still pretty steep for any non-match type .22LR

at least it's CCI and not thunderbolts.

Well, it ain't MiniMag, ya know, just standard stuff, about same as Blazer. Only slower.

Had plenty at my store, me and my son both picked up three boxes.

You could tell who the resellers that were there very easily, they kept on the phone and kept trying to break in front of the line.

They asked if it was for pistol or rifle, and I answered does it matter. You just checked my son's id and he's over 21 you figure it out lol.

I spoke with one of the Wal-Mart guys in sporting goods at the Murfreesboro Old Fort store. He said they still had .22LR at 1PM! I asked if they had any Federal Value packs, and he said no. He said the Win 333 round boxes was the closest to it...and he said they only had 10 of them. I believe he said the rest was mostly CCI 100 round boxes. But, I believe he said they had around 20 cases of ammo. So hopefully, those that really needed some .22LR was able to get some. I didn't need any myself, so I stayed away so others would have a chance to get some.

Actually, I think WM saved up what they were getting in, for quite some time, as they haven't had any .22 LR in this particular store for weeks.

I was at the WalMart in Antioch (Murf Rd) Sunday and they had 10-15 boxes of the CCI in the ammo case..  I picked up a couple boxes, mostly just to celebrate actually finding it at the store.

Ammo case was jammed full, not all at the best prices, but had a lot of different calibers and some items were even on sale - nice to see that for a change.

I was at the WalMart in Oak Ridge on Sunday afternoon, I wandered back to the sporting goods department for the heck of it.

There was a WM employee sort of lingering behind the counter, so I ask "still have CCI .22 in stock".

He says "yeah, I got like 7 left" and starts to reach for the lock on the ammo cabinet.

I said "ehhhhh... is it 100 round for $7.49?", he replies "yup"

I said "I'll pass" and walked away....

It's nice to finally go to WalMart and find that the scalpers have not successfully cleaned it out by 10AM - but I'm still not paying that much.
