I thought all lowers sold as "other"?

Since 8/08, supposed to be "other firearm". But legal to make pistol with (if done first) regardless of what an idiot FFL may check on 4473, before or after that date.

Had this thing out today, I was able to run it w the gas being open 1/4 turn from closed w a effin a compensator. Using 55 gr 223 ammo, it was great, recoil dropped w the gas valve being closed, the effin a comp took a bunch of plugs but it dos its job as well!
The BTE adj gas block is worth every penny.

Lowers with an angled trigger guard are the bain of Pmags. Noveske and Spikes have been approached by Magpul from what I have read to modify their designs. The ribs in the back of the mag can block them from seating.

I totally get that Pmags are the most popular mags out there. They're good gear. There's something about the idea of Magpul approaching a mfg like Noveske and Spikes to ask "will you change the design of your lower receiver, so it will work with our plastic magazines" seems....well...arrogant, for lack of a better word.

I totally agree. I feel the same way about being hesitant to use the word, but "arrogant" unfortunately fits.

Yeah, "arrogant" may or may not be too strong of a word. I'd imagine Magpul makes a mint in sales a year...and to their credit, they climbed to the top by making parts that work with the mil-spec standard. Along comes 2 mfgs with no hangups about straying slightly from that standard where it shouldn't hurt and Magpul now has 2 well-respected name brands making some lowers that their mags don't work with. I say it's oops on them...unfortunate placement of a ridge on their mag. Edited by BigK

I'm not sure who I would throw in with. The two lower manufacturers certainly don't have milspec magwells. It kinda just is what it is. I'm not sure Noveske or Spikes deserve and more respect than Magpul either. I know who showed up to the real fight. Just a couple of things that don't work together.
