Nothing wrong with the SB-15, I dig it, leaving it on my main AR pistol/firearm.

Just wanted to try the new one on an AK pistol, similar to what Dolomite has done, except with the M92 PAP.

Oh Shoot, does the vertical foregrip change the classification of that AR pistol?  I thought I had a handle on what makes an AR gun a pistol vs a rifle vs any other weapon, but now I am confused.

Adding a VFG to a "pistol" that is OVER 26" overall length turns it into a "firearm".

Adding a VFG to a "pistol" UNDER 26" overall length turns it into a "Any Other Weapon" and must be registered with the ATF before adding the VFG.

ETA: Hiding that "firearm" on your person becomes an "Any Other Weapon" and must be registered with the ATF.

Yup. Picture shows my legal non-NFA firearm. When I remove the VFG,  it's magically a handgun again.

And by the way, the qualifying length is 26.0", if you trust your own measurement absolutely. ;)

So what length bbl and brand/length buffer tube is needed to hit the magic 26"?

Depends on the gun type as all receivers are different lengths. Also depends on the buffer tube length.

My 7.5" AK makes it with an extended buffer tube, folding hinge and pig nose adapter. I believe 10.5" is the magic number for ARs with an extended buffer tube but I could be wrong so verify.

On AR a 10.3" or 10.5" barrel with an extended buffer tube like the KAK model made for the brace makes it.  Standard pistol buffer tube or carbine tube will fall short. Measured from end of barrel threads to end of buffer tube. Muzzle device only counts in barrel length and hence overall length if permanently attached.

I was thinking also last night... i just re-gripped my golf clubs not long ago... and you could do the same thing with this to insure it would stay in place... just some double sided tape and mineral spirits rubbed on, then slide it on and let dry... not sure how big of a circumference the KAK gen2 tubes are but that's what i have...haven't gotten my brace in yet tho...
