I don't get retail pricing on magpul mags in general. I understand very well the difference between online commerce and brick and mortar retail, but aside from the times I bought some at D&T when they did transfers for me, I can't imagine paying $20 for something you can get as cheap as $9 online.

On one hand I guess retailers ave figured out that having mags sit on the shelf isn't such a bad thing, every 4 years at least they'll sell out ;)

I guess I just figure that with the Internet dictating price they would mark them down as a loss lead, but then again my rough understanding of firearm retail is that the GUNS are the loss lead items and the bread and butter come from mags/holsters/sights/etc.

A real noodle scratcher.

Sounds like you visited The Outpost Armory.

Nope, just called them and they are only 5 cents over MSRP $13.99 (these are the AK mags). It was the one in Murfreesboro. I am going to go by the outpost today I think. Nicky I think that the stores still make money on guns, just not a ton. I am sure accessories and apparel is where the money is. I just can't see paying that much more for convenience.

ya i did notice walmart had a good selection of ammo last night... i didn't get anything but it was nice seeing a full case again... no 22LR tho... it was funny some lady went in there looking for 22LR and the guy told her...

"ya we rarely get it in and when it does come in it sells out in 30 minutes"...she was so shocked... then he said "um are you aware of the nation wide shortage on 22LR, ya it's been like that for the past few years now" LMAO this lady must be living under a rock

on the magazines tho... I did pick up 10 AR p-mags at 8.95 a piece and free shipping/no tax! not sure what LGS can beat that...

That is an amazing feat in itself. They're priced right on their high-end stuff but their nickle and dime(mostly ammo) stuff makes you wanna laugh in their face. It's good to know that they don't break it off in ya on everything.

Also on most of their other things as well.
