First 22 LR Suppressor - Which One?

Recommended Posts

I been thinking about pursuing a suppressor (can) for my 22 pistols with 1/2x28 threaded barrels. I only forsee having this one suppressor for use on two Ruger 22/45 Mark III's. I've read that the Element II and Sparrow are the better ones and that alot buy the YHM Mite. Can the Mite be disassembled for cleaning like the Sparrow and Element II. Price high to low is Element II, Sparrow, then Mite. The Mite and stamp could be bought for the price of the Sparrow or Element II. Which would be the best buy for the money and can be disassembled for cleaning?. What would you recommend?

I bought the Silencerco Sparrow.  Two biggest reasons is the ease of cleaning and the customer service of the company.  It's not the lightest can on the market and it's also not the cheapest.........but for shooting a lot of nasty lead .22 I think it's the best one on the market.

You will not understand how important this is until you have to take a hammer to your investment to take it apart for cleaning.

My first can was the Mite and if I had to do it over again I would.

I've never shot it side by side with any other cans though so I can't give honest comparisons.  I will say that I find it to be hearing safe with all of my hosts.  Its a bitch to clean though.  I've had it get so locked up that we had to put it in the vice and use a breaker bar to free it. Would I get it over again if I had to?  Yes but I got it used locally for a fantastic price and it was a great intro into the world of shhhhhhh.

I just mailed paperwork for a Warlock II Monday.  Its another sub $300 can and is from Silencerco.  SiCo has a great reputation and the Warlock has some great features.  The baffles click together which should prevent the can from locking up.  Its also threaded on both ends which will also help keep it from locking up. I'm excited to get my stamp back (hopefully within a year) and get these two out side by side and do some shooting.
