Help in sourcing AR parts

My son turns 21 in a few weeks and has adored my AR for some time but can't afford one and wants one of his own, he's not had his own firearms due to some rough teen years and to be honest he was a little slow in maturity but he's far out grown it and started working this year instead of laying around like some his age and I know he won't be our I won't be around forever so I'm getting in what Dad time I can.

I'm going to surprise him and build one with him as a starter gun (he doesn't know it's for his birthday lol) that he can improve as time goes for him to enjoy some shooting time with me using his own rifle and learn it's internals. I've got the lower and the parts kit is ordered and the following parts picked out to order this week.

16" Heavy barrel
Anderson stripped Upper
Gas block
Forearm grip
Upper parts
Sights (I've got a spare red dot be he's a irons man lol)

What has got me stumped sourcing is the following

Buffer tube kit with a stock in Mil spec

And the BCG

The prices at online places are either all over the place or don't list enough specs to make me comfortable.

I ain't made out of money right now so I've been sourcing cheap but safe good starter parts to budget around.

Let me make this perfectly clear this is not some kinda handout thread this is a point me to affordable reliable sources I may have missed so I can stay on budget thread.

Thanks

Classic arms for barrels starting at $75. I have two, they're fine so far.

AIM surplus for BCG. You can get a nitride or Nib for cheap. Just get a standard one and even cheaper. Again, I have two, they're fine.

Brownels for upper parts; dust cover, forward assist.

PSA for pretty much all the rest.

Absolutely considering your goal. The barrels I got were noting special, but not only was the price right, they are actually better than I thought they'd be at that price. Where else can you take your pick between 1/7, 1/8, 1/9 16" M4 barrel WITH 223Wylde chambering for under $90 delivered? No where I've found.

One bit if advice, get one of their pistol barrels just to have on hand too. They're so cheap, and the shipping won't go up making each one a sweeter deal!

I'd put these on par with the ARStoner barrels I've bought, but at even better pricing.

I would grab a complete upper from Radical Firearms:

For a BCG I would buy the AIM surplus NiB:

They are so much easier to clean and actually add to the looks of the gun.

Grab a charging handle from anywhere. I just picked up a US made one for $14 shipped.

It looks great.

Milspec stocks and buffer tubes are going to be more expensive. Also there are a lot more offerings for a commercial tube. I bought a NICE commercial tube off of Ebay for $9 shipped and it is the best commercial tube I have ever used. I have actually bought a few more because they are so good. Unfortunately he has raised his prices some.

I bought one of these last night. Unless I'm missing something, this is a helluva deal. Free shipping to boot.

*Update* I shot this today, and it is indeed a helluva deal!
