Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40mm BDC Reticle

Recommended Posts

This seems like a good black Friday deal from PSA, but I have no experience with scopes beyond an ACOG. I trust you guys more than other online reviews...do you think this scope is worth the cost and reliable?

I plan to mount a scope onto a 16" AR so I have a long reach gun to compliment my SBR, but I want to keep it affordable (under $200).

I have one and I'm happy with it for the almost double I spent. This is a great scope for this price. Jump on it for sure, there are better out there but if you want that level of magnification for a budget this is going to be very hard to beat.

What did you get to mount it?

I have one on my 308 and it is a great piece of glass at twice that price. Only "negative" is that the eye relief is long. I had to mount it pretty far forward. Never had that "problem"before. Most of the time I was aggravated by the short and finicky eye relief of most scopes I've used. Edited by Smith

Saw this while doing some other shopping online.  Looks good enough.  I saw the Bushnell model I ordered specifically addressed in the questions and reviews.

Again, gents, thanks again for all the input.  Such a wealth of knowledge here.

That one looks OK. Anything that has the proper height and forward offset should be fine. Don't forget to put a little Blue Loctite on the screw threads.

The PEPR and Aero Precision are good choices, here's another one I'm using right now that I like a lot made by Warne http://www.amazon.com/Warne-Skeletonized-Lightweight-Mount-Skel-1tw/dp/B00ECHTCLA

If my memory serves right, it's pretty heavy compared to the Aero.

Edit: Holy crap that's a good deal on that Aero mount. I won't delete my post, but sheesh I doubt the Warne is $40 better Edited by KKing

I got my tracking number for the scope today, which was a pleasant surprise.  With PSA, I was expecting to order on Black Friday and get it after Xmas.

Glad others were able to take advantage of the deal.  This place has given me so much, it feels good to provide something for others on here.

Got the scope today.  It looks great, but whoever said these rings work with it is an idiot or only has a safe queen.  I can't adjust the magnification because it's pushed right up against the base of the ring no matter where I put it on the back end.  I'll have to get another way to mount it since I don't want to use only one ring.

Which rings are you guys who already have this scope using?

I started to not say anything assuming you'd already tried it but just in case you haven't. Did you flip the rear mount the opposite way with the bases close to eachother and see if that helped? I've seen some people mount them that way and I guess it's for this reason on whatever scope they were using.

Got mine in today. The only thing I don't like is the amount of eye relief it needs. So much so that I've got the scope pushed forward as far as I can in this mount. It's fine, but ideally I need a more forward mount. Hopefully I get to wring it out Saturday

Dude, thanks for posting that.  It was that simple of a fix.

Yeah, I wanted to move mine further as well, but the delta ring is in the way.  Makes shooting with my nose on the charging handle impossible.  I'll try it out sometime next week or the week after to figure out if I can work with it, or I need to get rings that can mount on the rail without having to slide on from an end.
