Shotgun match at Middle TN Shooters Club 2-1-15

Recommended Posts

OK, I have registered for the match.

As someone whose previous shotgun experience has been bird hunting and skeet, what equipment do I need for the match? Shotgun, sling, eye/ear protection, shells, and a shell bag? Anything else?

Thanks,
Whisper

Shotgun, eye and ear protection. No sling necessary. The round count is 100 birdshot and 8 slugs but that is the minimum with no misses. I would bring 125 bird and 15 slugs just to be safe. You can keep you shells in a bag but shell holders are definitely better. I have a few you can borrow. Just put yourself in squad one and I'll help you out.

I'd like to shoot in this match. If anyone can help me find a fiber optic rod for a front sight on a Winchester SX2 Practical Tactical, please let me know so I can get my shotgun back in operation.

Thanks,
Whisper

Outpost armory had a good selection of fiber shotgun sights from hi Viz and more.

Speed shooters specialties & dawson precision both sell fiber rods by the inch in red and green. You just need to know what size you need.
And it should take .060 because that's what's in my FN SLP which is the same gun. Edited by Jcoop

I used a drill bit to determine that the size I needed was .060 and ordered some Truglo rods from Midway. They arrived yesterday and I've repaired the sight. Looking forward to the match on Sunday. See you there.
