Man faces 10 years in prison for possessing antique flintlock pistol

Recommended Posts

The guy is a double idiot.  He lives in NJ, so he should know any gun is more or less a no-go...then consenting to a search of his car was stupid as well.  I'm also curious as to why the gun was in his glove compartment, and not at home.  He's obviously not defending himself with it, was he on his way to a sale or something?

Not saying he deserves what he is getting, but situational awareness goes a long way.  I hope he gets 12 people that believe in jury nullification to decide his fate.

He has to be one of those people that believed the gov was making laws to reduce crime and not criminalize law abiding citizens.

At his age I'm sure he can't believe it. This is America, was at least.

He probably also believes the LEO community are there to protect and serve, not act as henchmen for petty third world dictator types.

The lawmakers and decision makers need to be held accountable, till then the insanity will continue.

I'm sure they had reasonable cause, he's only a 72 year old retired school teacher.

Obviously he is a 72 year old teacher. It’s just me; anytime someone starts a conversation about a gun on a traffic stop my first question is “How did the gun become an issue?” I’d ask the Pope the same question.

Why in the world did he consent to a search of his car during a traffic stop?

I have talked to a lot of people that don't understand the concept of consent.  They seem to believe that once you have been detained, then LEOs can pretty do anything they want.  They think if you refuse a cop, then you automatically go to jail (or at the very least get a ticket).  I have tried to educate them about their rights, but the idea persists.

Regardless of the rest of the story, no one should face any jail time for simply possessing a flintlock firearm.  Not even under federal law is that illegal for even a felon to possess.  I would like to know what led to them to want to search his car.

New Jersey gun laws deny it's citizens their 2nd amendment rights.

This is what happens when you have communists running the legislature

in Trenton.

Concealed carry is non existent in the Communist state of Jersey.

Fat boy is part of the problem.

It will never change there. Way too many left wing idiots living there.

That's why I moved to The free state of Tennessee!
